Today we are playing spot the difference….

Some of the new windows have been fitted!!
Now with new improved no woodworm, no rot, solid hardwood & double glazed to keep the sound and heat in for those cozy nights with the log burning going and the cold beer flowing.

Peter has outdone himself with these windows, he has copied the originals perfectly. We did try to save the originals but sadly they were just to far gone. More rot than timber. These now need to be double glazed, painted & fitted.
Can not wait to see these on the building.

It’s slow progress at the Tav but rest assured we aren’t just chucking a coat of paint on the place and claiming a full refit. We really are repairing years of neglect and patch ups.
When we open you’ll really see why it’s taken us so long to get the design, product and venue what you would expect from your new favourite local.
Whether it’s an after work pint or a get together with friends we will have you covered. Food? Yes….. Great beer? Yes!…. Friends old and new? YES!……. Dancing to the best DJs and bands at the weekends??? DANG YES!!!

Starting to get jobs completed at the Tav!

New log burner and chimney liner all in place, the old open fire was lucky it hadn’t burnt the building down.

Bricks missing between the downstairs and upstairs chimney, upstairs fireplace bricked up with the wrong blocks, 6 yes SIX bags of soot removed from the upstairs fire place where the smoke had been bleeding between the 2 stacks. Oh and one old rusty sword!!This soot if hot enough would have caught fire, the guys said that the previous owners were very lucky it didn’t go up like a Roman candle.

It’s now all safe, inspected and certified for use 🔥🔥😁🍻

How on earth (or lack of one!!) did these lights ever work?? This was what we found when removing the front sign lights

We removed the lot and will renew cables, lights & make the sign shine brighter than ever!! And without anything shorting out or catching fire ⚡️💥🔥
