🌟 Spotlight Sunday – Taking Opportunities! 🌟
At Funky, we’re always striving to provide the highest quality training possible, helping our students develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed for drama school auditions and beyond.
We’re also passionate about supporting our students in seeking opportunities outside of Funky that complement and enhance their training. Taking initiative, gaining new experiences, and learning from industry professionals are all valuable steps on the journey into the performing arts industry.
This week, one of our alumni, who currently works for recently returned to Funky to lead a workshop and invited our students to attend a session at The Actor’s Lab Manchester. With it being half-term, many students were away, but Emily and Niamh were proactive, signed up, and made the most of the opportunity.
Here’s what they had to say:
💗 Emily:
“The opportunity to have another workshop with Alfie was amazing! We worked on ‘de-mystifying’ the drama school audition process through acting technique, contemporary monologue exploration, and classical monologues. Alfie also gave us a great insight into PPA and what they have to offer. It was a great experience and built upon what I’ve already been doing in my training at Funky.”
✨ Niamh:
“The Actor’s Lab in Manchester was super helpful in understanding how to choose a monologue for auditions, both contemporary and classical, in a really open and safe space.”
A huge well done to Emily and Niamh for embracing this opportunity. Experiences like these are invaluable and will be hugely beneficial as they continue preparing for future drama school auditions.
