Judging is underway for the Tendring Farm and Crop Competitions, taking place today and tomorrow. The winners of the large and small farm categories will go forward to proudly represent Tendring in the Essex County Farms Competition. We wish the participants lots of luck!

At the Show, we’ll be presenting a fantastic line‑up of trophies, including:

• The Brooks Cup – best farm under 300 hectares
• The Cargill Cup – best farm 300 hectares and over
• The Mark Lawrence (Grain) Ltd Cup – best malting barley
• The J Soufflet Agricultural Merchant (Anglia) Ltd Cup – best wheat
• The Giles Cup – best combining peas
• The Shell Chemicals Cup – best sugar beet

We enjoyed a fantastic summer social for THFC members and VPs this week with a visit to Treestacks Poultry Farm, generously hosted by Hamford Farming — winners of the Tendring Farms Competition (large farms) 2024 and previous County (large farms) champions. 🏆

Our hosts treated everyone to delicious food and refreshments, all kindly organised by the farm. The chicken was generously donated by Cranswick and beautifully cooked and prepared by a talented local chef.

It was a brilliant, informative and thoroughly enjoyable evening, very well attended and full of great conversation. A huge thank you to everyone involved for making the event such a success.

To everyone heading to London or tuning in from home for Trooping the Colour, we hope you have a fantastic day. 🇬🇧

This historic ceremony has marked the Sovereign’s official birthday for over 260 years, sees the King’s personal flag “trooped” through the ranks of the Household Division, accompanied by hundreds of soldiers, horses, and musicians.

Enjoy the spectacle wherever you’re watching from!
