MJ Lenderman sang the songs we’d already worn out at home, and played guitar like one of the greats.

Gruff Rhys reminded us why he’s a national treasure and Caribou took over the roof terrace for a day party like no other

Nourished By Time brought the wonky soul, Astrid Sonne was quietly extraordinary, Fat Dog and Getdown Services were fun, sweat and chaos.

The Dare and Fcukers brought New York to the Basement. The Horrors turned the Pink Room into a smoke-filled world of their own.

Fontaines D.C. returned to YES, and Erol kept the kids dancing.

COMET IS COMING - 02/04/19
“Amazing energy from the three piece and the crowd. Great saxophonist, cracking drum solo and crazy electronics”

At the end of every night, the manager writes a shift report and emails it round to everyone involved in YES. Over the next few days we’re going to share a few of our favourites from the last 8 years.

2023
We turned five and The Walkmen played the Pink Room.

Arab Strap told us stories you wouldn’t tell your mum. Tirzah did more with less, CHAI were pure joy, and Gilla Band and Protomartyr made a critically acclaimed racket.

Glass Beams had the Basement hypnotised, Royel Otis joined us for Psych Fest, Model/Actriz made noise to dance to.

And Skrillex turned up for a party.

2022
Geese played their first UK show in the Basement. Wet Leg packed out the Pink Room. The Last Dinner Party were still called The Dinner Party.

Bill Ryder-Jones was heartbreaking and very funny, TOPS brought the immaculate pop, and Night Shop showed he’s one of the best to ever do it.

Fontaines D.C. and Confidence Man got behind the decks, and Joy Orbison, salute and Danny L Harle gave us reason to stay out late.

DOVE ELLIS - 25.01.25

Manager’s end of night report: Dove Ellis first up, playing as a 3 piece this time. Lovely Jeff Buckley-esque vocals. Got a famous fan in Barry Keoghan who came down just to see them.
