💛10TH SEPTEMBER - WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY💛
You never know what someone is carrying when they walk through our doors.
A guest checking into a hotel.
Someone sitting quietly at the bar.
The person laughing with their friends.
The colleague serving your drink.
The regular who hasn't been in for a while.
Sometimes "I'm fine" doesn't mean 'I'm Fine'
Pubs, bars and hotels are places where people come together. They can be places of laughter, celebration, friendship and memories, but they can also be places where someone comes looking for a little company when they're struggling with what's happening outside our doors.
So today, let's look out for each other.
🫂Ask your friend if they're really ok
❤️Check in on the person who seems a little quieter than usual
👂Listen without judging
📱Send that message
🤝If someone opens up, don't walk away
You don't need to be a councillor.
You don't need to have all the answers.
Sometimes, simply listening can be enough to remind someone that they aren't alone.
If you're the person struggling right now, please talk to someone
Tell a friend. Tell a family member. Speak to a colleague. Ask for help.
There is no shame in not being ok.
Because sometimes, one question, one conversation, one person choosing to listen can make the difference between someone feeling completely alone and someone knowing they have a reason to keep going.
💛Look out for your mates. Look out for strangers. Look out for each other. Start the conversation. You never know how much it might mean 💛
