Festival Povera '26 and Big Hands and birthday party!

This year we are celebrating Big Hands' 25th and Temple's 30th birthdays with three days of performance, art, short film, djs, and live music, leading up to a big birthday bash on Saturday the 26th September. Food, drink, musical performances from old friends, a DJ set from Pedro Mestizo at Big Hands and at Temple, and lots of familiar faces. Come down and join us in our revels

Festival Povera champions art made any anyone, the weirder; the better! This year's theme is NAUTICAL NONSENSE and begins on the 23rd (wed) with another comedy musical from the twisted mind of Jasmin Gittins and her troupe of troublemakers. WILF'S TALES OF THE HIGH SEAS coming to a very small stage near you... plus a DJ set from until closing.

Then on 24th (thur) we will be showing this year's showreel of short films by local directors curated by the brilliant Leo Holdich Garside, followed by live projection art and a DJ set from SexGod. Also visuals from TEMPLEHEADS legendary cult film by .manford.photography

On Friday 25th three bands take to the stage to play some weird and wonderful sounds, stay tuned for our line up announcement! A DJ set by Mr Manford down at Temple for a change of pace, and a special guest DJ at Hands... and then the real birthday party starts on saturday - 'kinell!

Tuesday night gig?? Tuesday night gig! Sour Grapes Records presents Aussie legends Straight Arrows and local legends tonight, doors at 8.30pm, cheap and cheerful, support the local scene!

Friday we have DJ SexGod for a tour round his twisted musical mind, stay tuned for details. And on Saturday Mestizo Sounds presents music without frontiers from 10pm until late. Get down and enjoy!

29th - The Robin Sunflower Band, free gig, two sets with a vinyl interlude

Live DJs -

DJ SexGod is on after the gig on the 3rd, plus every friday this month from 10pm until 3am, playing exclusively vinyl bangers as he so desires

DJ Pedro is back on the 4th and the 18th for Mestizo Sounds - music without frontiers, all vinyl, all night long - dancing shoes are mandatory!

We've got from on the 11th come and catch her before she jets off for fairer climes!

And finally we have celebrating women in music with DJ Mama Sita from 10pm until 3am! Get some!

Friday brings Sour Grapes Records presenting SKORTS | NYC all the way from NYC, supported by local legends Sister Wives - expect big sounds. Doors are 8.30, fiver in, ask the cool SG kids for advance tickets. Vinyl set from DJ SexGod, following - quality vinyl, no stupid requests

Saturday's offering is music without frontiers with Mestizo Sounds, playing vinyl bangers spanning time and space unabashedly from 10pm until late. Dancing shoes are mandatory

Wed - The Robin Sunflower Band plays two sets of harmonica madness, with a vinyl DJ interlude for free - starts around 9, going until closing time!

Thurs - DJ SexGod from 10pm until 2am, free vinyl DJ set, watch this space in case he graces us with details of what's to come!

Fri - grunge, 90's rock, garage, riot grrrrl, etc from 10pm until 3am!

Sat - celebrating women who rock from 10pm until 3am, bring your dancing shoes!

We are switching to summer hours! Sun-Thurs we will be open from 3pm-2am, and on Fri+Sat we are open from midday until 3am until further notice.

The lovely lads at are serving hot and fresh goodness out of the kitchen from 4pm as usual!
