Not the Queen's Arms page any more Oldest passenger railway pub in the world. Wonderful traditional pub, listed at the instigation of the local Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) branch.

Built in 1828 in readiness for the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, it lays claim to be the world's first railway pub. Three unspoilt rooms are served from a central bar. These are well cared for by proud licensees. A recent innovation is the addition of a guest beer at weekends. Won a local branch award for a fine example of a traditional unspoilt pub in 2010.

Have written this post several times but it didn't sound right but here goes. Thank you to everyone who has made the last 31 years at the Queens Arms so very very special. There have been so many stories ( i could write a book) so much merriment, laughter and of course tears (love you mum ♥️) . The place is something special and that's because of you, the people that come through the doors and share a pint and a chat with whoever is there. Its been a privilege to know everyone who's walked through the door over the years ♥️.

I also have to say we were so overwhelmed by the turn out on Saturday it was mind blowing and you did me proud and drank the Queens dry!!!! THANKYOU

I know Lynn will be watching over Chris as he moves into retirement and enjoys a well earned rest and family time. And as for me I'm sure ill pop in when the Queens reopens again in a few weeks under its new ownership.

So thats me signing off now. Thank you Queens Arms for the memories you will be greatly missed and always loved ❤ ♥️

Just a reminder that we have a leaving party tomorrow at the Queens from 7pm all welcome to come, eat, drink and be Merry.

Raffle (as we won't be there for Christmas) and a buffet.

So after 31 years as landlord and with two weeks to go until we leave thought I would just update on our leaving do. 29th June from 7pm let's party like its 1999 and give Chris the send off he deserves. There will be music, merriment, buffet and a raffle. Let's drink the pub dry!🍺
