Wythenshawe CC 1st XI 182/9 (50 overs) at home today, beat Denton West CC 2nd XI 121 all out (33.4 overs) by 61 runs in a convincing performance at Wythenshawe CC.

Wythenshawe won the toss and elected to bat, posting a competitive 182 for 9 from their 50 overs. M Taylor led the way with an excellent 49 from 47 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes, narrowly missing out on a well-deserved half-century. M Devarajan contributed a valuable 36 from 83 balls, while M Saifullah added a brisk 25 from 41. S Sivasylum also made a useful 20.

In reply, Denton West struggled to build partnerships and were bowled out for 121 in 33.4 overs, leaving Wythenshawe comfortable winners by 61 runs.

The outstanding performer with the ball was V Muslapuram, who produced a superb spell of 6 wickets for 39 runs from 13 overs, including 5 maidens. S Yadala also impressed with 2 for 46, while M Taylor and M Madana claimed a wicket apiece.

A strong all-round display from the 1st XI, with M Taylor’s 49 and V Muslapuram’s outstanding 6-wicket haul the standout performances in a deserved 61-run victory.

Wythenshawe CC 2XI (away) were beaten by Mottram CC 2XI by 7 wickets.

Batting first, Wythenshawe were bowled out for 91 in 30 overs.

Mottram chased down the target comfortably, reaching 97/3 in just 13.5 overs to secure the victory.

A disappointing result for the 2XI, who will look to bounce back in their next & final fixture of the season next week at home vs Denton CC 2XI

On Friday our Willows U15s Girls, with another resounding victory away vs Cheadle Hulme CC U15s Girls.
Wythenshawe Willows posting 86/4 off 14 overs, with Aneesa Jan continuing her excellent form this season, retiring on 30 runs 🌟
