Please help save this amazing school. 🙏🙏💚💛
🏫 This is Anais and Delilah, they are pupils at a primary school which has been subject to a closure consultation.
Trafford council announced last month it would be consulting on a plan to shut St Teresa’s RC Primary School, saying the setting was ‘no longer financially viable’ due to low pupil numbers.
If it remains open, debts from the school could run into the hundreds of thousands of pounds, a council spokesman said.
But parents have said St Teresa’s is ‘far more than simply a school building’. They say it is a ‘close-knit community’ where children feel ‘safe, supported, valued, and understood’, and where staff ‘go above and beyond every day’.
Speaking on behalf of a wider group of parents at the school, mum Helen Fitzpatrick said: “For many families, St Teresa’s is far more than simply a school building. It is a close-knit community where children feel safe, supported, valued, and understood.
“The staff go above and beyond every day to nurture not only children’s education, but also their confidence, emotional wellbeing, faith, and happiness. The thought of losing such an important part of our community is heartbreaking for parents, pupils, and staff alike.” 💔
