A big thank you to the Manchester Hard Dance Promotors Association who put on a fundraiser at the DBA at the end of February. As a result of our efforts we managed to raise £412.50 for and an additional £412.50 towards the Joseph Holts Childrens Charities Appeal now raising total funds to £1600 towards our £2k target. A big thank you and shout out to the DJs who played!

A big thank you to and for inviting the DBA community to be part of the UTOPIA project. The exhibition created space for grassroots creatives within the DBA community to showcase their own art, while also representing an element of what utopia embodies - something far greater than the bricks and mortar of any space. Its true embodiment is community and the families we choose.

Trackie and the young creatives’ invitation to be part of UTOPIA also allowed the DBA to raise £600, which has now been donated to the Joseph Holt chosen charity initiative. This year the collective effort across the entire Joseph Holt estate is supporting four local children’s charities.

Across 125 pubs, each has been tasked with raising £2,000 over the year, contributing to a collective goal of £250,000 to be shared between the four charities.

So far, the DBA community has helped us reach £1,100 of our £2,000 target.

For anyone who doesn’t know, the £5 guestlist contribution also goes toward this fund, as well as other local community charities connected to our scenes and neighbourhoods.
