A packed crowd at BOXPARK Liverpool raised £5,000 in one night for the campaign to build a permanent statue of The Vivienne at the entrance to the city’s Pride Quarter, taking the total raised past £33,000.

Sir Patrick Stewart 1940 - 2026

We wanted to pay tribute to Sir Patrick Stewart and who better to do that than Misty Chance. Patrick Stewart defined a generation with his characters across stage and screen. Many knew him as Picard but he later brought gravitas and wisdom to the role of Professor X is in the X-Men films. Time might be fleeing but your stamp on it is indelible.

We are saddened to hear that British acting royalty Sir Patrick Stewart has passed away. From Star Trek and X-Men to his incredible work in Shakespeare, it’s impossible to understate the impact he has had on the world of entertainment and culture.

Your dignity, talent and passion for the arts have inspired generations, and your contribution to the industry will never be forgotten. You will be greatly missed.

A early sold-out room at BOXPARK Liverpool this Friday could raise more than £30,000 toward the permanent statue of The Vivienne planned for the entrance to the city’s Pride Quarter. Tickets are on sale now.

The Bring The Vivienne Home fundraiser takes place on Friday 30th October at BOXPARK Liverpool, a venue holding well over a thousand people. With a full room and a raffle strip in every hand, the night could raise more than a quarter of the £120,000 needed to commission the statue in a single evening.

The campaign is led by Cassie Williams, mother of James Lee Williams, and managed by Proudly Said

Volunteer ‘extra’ recruitment is now underway for a new short film produced by We Are Survivors and based on the stage play The MP, Aunty Mandy & Me.

The film explores consent, and is connected to We Are Survivors' work supporting men and boys affected by sexual harm. It is being directed by Lee Knight, whose recent short film A Friend of Dorothy received an Oscar nomination.

We're looking for around 30 volunteers from the pup, leather, fe**sh and kink communities to appear as extras in a nightclub scene. We want the club environment and its community to feel authentic and respectfully represented on screen. The film is not intended to shame or vilify kink communities and will portraythis club environment in a positive light from a director famed for and passionate about positive q***r stories. The harmful behaviour depicted in the story belongs to a specific character within the story, and takes place in a different environment entirely, and in private.

Filming details:
• Thursday 29 October (daytime shoot in Central Manchester)
• Travel expenses can be reimbursed for those travelling from across the North West
• Participants will receive appropriate film credits

There is already strong media interest in the project, including from Attitude magazine.
We are working to a very tight timescale and need to confirm numbers as soon as possible. If you're interested, please get in touch within the next day or two so we can finalise planning for the shoot.
