💜 Changes incoming.... 💜

Love From has had the most amazing year and since the pop up bar came to a close we have been reflecting and rejigging some things...

First up, what is really clear. Is that what we do has become some much more than a bar. We get contacted every day from our community who feel inspired and motivated by our message 🥹

It's also become really clear that the content that you love on this account is content about my own personal journey and sober living. So...

This account is changing to be my full time job as a Content Creator (eeeeek I'm nervous!) and I have loads of cool ideas I want to bring to life to keep you interested!

BUT, another thing that is really clear is that you want a way to connect in real life. Enter....

Our new brand 👋🏼

Turn Up is where you will find in person events, collaborations with other brands and communities and all the other extra stuff we do like festivals and gigs!

Why the name Turn Up?

Firstly - on my first day in treatment the guy in the treatment centre said to me "all you have to do is Turn Up every day" and that has been my mantra ever since. It's about turning up for ourselves so we can turn up for others. The last image is from my journal back in 2021 when I started treatment! 💜

"But we prefer the name Love From" - I think lots of you might feel like this given what an amazing year we have had but whilst we are still young and with the changes we are making I wanted to start with something new and fresh and that encompasses what we have learnt this year and Turn Up feels to me like the perfect brand for our community!

Co***ne and alcohol....

I don't think we talk about the marriage of co***ne and alcohol enough. The two go hand in hand for so many people when it comes to "letting our hair down" at the weekend - they were my best mates for years!

Mixing co***ne and alcohol is potentially lethal yet so often we see it glamorised in social settings and even in what we watch in Film and TV. I'd go as far to say that it's endemic.

If this sounds like you, you can 100% change that.

And if this was you - big congrats on making the change.

There's still so much stigma to talking about co***ne use so honestly my goal is to just try and normalise the convo so people get help if they need it.

TURN UP...

When I was drinking I was THE most flakey person alive. I constantly failed to follow through on plans, appointments, special occasions, you name it.... because I was either drunk somewhere or hungover.

Drink and drugs were my number one priority and sadly I missed out on a lot as I chose constantly getting wasted over things that are way more important.

In rehab someone said to me that when you get sober you're given a second chance and so make sure you TURN UP for everything. And it really stuck with me.

It's a little mantra that I say to myself most days. And mostly it's about turning up for myself. Not just to appointments.

Thanks to and to for putting my little mantra on a gorgeous display in the city this summer 💜

Sober October is here....

Tbh, I never wanted to stop drinking, it was more a case of I had to stop drinking but even when I stopped it wasn't my plan to stay sober forever, yet nearly 4 years later here I am still not drinking - the desire for me has totally gone.

I think that happens when life without it doesn't feel like a negative trade-off which I was CONVINCED it would be!

If you were to ask me why I got sober...

In January 2021 I got sober and haven't looked back since. My life has changed immeasurably as a result of making that one decision.

It's not always easy living alcohol-free but my god it's so much better for me.

Big love to Steve my therapist who supported me through treatment.

I never dreamed I'd be able to stop drinking and taking drugs and nearly 4 year on it still blows my mind that I have given it was all I used to care about!

Change is possible if you want it enough 💜
