It’s intro time again! This is Rosie. The voice behind all our comms / marketing (except this post, which is written by Ellie). From designing our brand from a remote island in Nicaragua with just their finger and an iPad, to getting all of our tech systems working, Rosie is a multi-talented wizard 🧙🏻‍♂️

Rosie is also the tidying police and can frequently be found in the stock room reorganising everything and telling the rest of us off for being messy! Rosie gets things done. Without them Sip & Conquer would not be running on a day-to-day basis and I (Ellie) would have lost every key to the building 😇

New school year, new after school clubs! Join us for Pokémon Club every Wednesday and Lorcana Club every Thursday from 3.30-5.30pm 💥

Kids 6+ can come along to learn how to play, trade cards, and make new friends. Parents are welcome to stay and work, join in or drop and go (for kids over 8)

• £5 per child
• Pre-made decks available - no need to have their own cards!
• Starts from 9th September (Pokémon) and 10th September (Lorcana)

It’s time for another team intro! Everyone say hello to Sam! 🫡

Sam is our resident game designer and just smashed the kickstarter for his game Wickens, but he also does many other things at Sip & Conquer! He’s in charge of our TCG programme, and is certifiably the best at latte art amongst us (or are the rest of us just really bad?)

What’s Sam’s favourite thing about the cafe, you ask? He loves seeing people have a good time playing his favourite games and making memorable moments and connections at our events 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾💖

Big moves at Sip & Conquer this week! 🏃🏻‍♀️ We now have a selection of our favourite games available to purchase in-store, from small-box card games to big-box bangers like Catan and Wingspan 🦅

And, in even bigger news, our Board Game Rental platform is finally live (much to Ellie and Rosie’s joy, because loading 300+ games on manually was not for the weak). You can rent almost all of our games for one or two weeks—the ideal way to learn the rules and figure out if you like a game before you buy

Young folks aged 8-14 can join us on the 5th August for a Paint Your Favourite Animal session with the wonderful Maidenhead-based creative and art teacher .garbarino! 🎨

Next up on our intros list, it’s Ellie, the queen of (almost) everything at Sip & Conquer. Ellie is our interior designer, community-builder extraordinaire, coffee connoisseur and caffeine addict, and, most importantly, she keeps our finances and our plant babies alive (we lost a plant to Ellie’s holiday last month and are still grovelling for forgiveness) 🌱

After starting to build community groups for young people in Maidenhead years ago, Ellie’s favourite part of Sip & Conquer is our Social Gaming evening: seeing people come along, meet fellow board gamers, make connections, and leave with new friends. She’s also a big fan of being able to hunt out as many ocean-themed games to add to our shelves as possible! 🦈
