We’re swapping pints for drams for one night at RedWillow Macclesfield, as we welcome Filey Bay for a relaxed wh**ky tasting.

Filey Bay is made by Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery , the county’s first single malt wh**ky distillery. They do everything from field to bottle, growing their own barley on the family farm, then distilling and maturing it themselves. Much of it is aged in ex-bourbon casks, which gives it notes of vanilla, honey and orchard fruit.

You’ll work your way through six 15ml drams and hear the story behind each one. It’s not stuffy or serious, and you don’t need to be a wh**ky expert. Come curious and leave with a new favourite.

Here’s what’s pouring at RedWillow Macclesfield right now.

From our brewery:

- Breakfast Stout, 5.6%: brewed with Vietnamese coffee. Dark, roasty, and the obvious choice now that the evenings are drawing in.
- Sauvin Blanc, 5.0%: Faithless 243, the latest in our rotating Faithless pale ale series.
- Beyond Shameless, 6.2%: a West Coast IPA brewed with our friends at NORTHERN MONK. Bitter, bright and properly hoppy.
- Contactless, 5.2%: our hazy pale ale. Soft, juicy and very easy to keep ordering.
- Perceptionless, 6.6%: our award-winning New England IPA, as hazy and fruity as ever.

And on the guest lines:

- Yonder Brewing & Blending Sunset Sorbet, 4.2%: a tropical sour for anyone after something sharp and fruity.
- Thornbridge Brewery Brock, 4.1%: a nitro stout from our Derbyshire neighbours, poured smooth and creamy.

Two stouts on at once means a coffee vs nitro taste-off is entirely justified. Come and find us in Macc and tell us which one wins.

Tempranillo is back, and it’s moving in with us!

If you’ve been missing your tapas fix since Tempranillo closed its doors on Back Wallgate, we have good news. The team are setting up in the kitchen at RedWillow Macclesfield as Tempranillo Nómada. Nómada is Spanish for nomad, which feels about right for a restaurant that’s packed up its pans and found somewhere new to cook.

For anyone who never made it down Back Wallgate, Tempranillo made its name with tapas inspired by the bars of Madrid: small plates made for sharing, cooked by people who really know their stuff. Now you can have that food with a pint of our b**r alongside it, which we think is a pretty good match.

Walk-ins only

From Thursday 5th November, Nómada will be cooking:

Hola amigos, it has been too long. I have held off on saying anything here as I wanted to have something positive to say when I did. It has been a few months now since we were forced to close our doors. It was never my intention for that to be the end. But I also needed to work out what the next chapter should look like. I am sure there has been plenty of conjecture as to what went wrong and the honest answer is that it wasn't any one thing but a multitude in what has not been an easy industry to operate in recently as well as some personal issues that I know some of you are aware of. More than anything though what has been truly special is the amount of messages, stories and people reaching out to say what Tempranillo meant to them and I am so thankful to have customers like all of you. Having taken some time out with family we are taking some steps back out into the world and are going to be visiting some friends. Nonetheless is back on the bar! 🍺

Our 3.8% pale is now pouring on cask at RedWillow Macclesfield.

It’s a properly British pale, built on Maris Otter malt for that biscuity backbone and hopped with First Gold, an English hop that brings a gentle orangey, slightly spicy character.

Light enough to stay on for a few, with plenty going on in the glass. This is exactly what a cask pale should be as the evenings draw in.

What's pouring this weekend in Macclesfield? Some really great b**r is what!

On cask we have our fantastic El Dorado and Riwaka Pale Ale as well as Headless, Wreckless and Feckless ready to go.

On keg our Sauvin Blanc pale ale is now ready, packed with white grape, gooseberry and citrus. Feeling fruity? We recommend trying the Major Krush NEIPA by **r or the **r Jelly King Passion-fruit and Guava dry-hopped sour.

The annual Choose Macc Santa Pub Crawl is back on Saturday 12th December, from 4pm, and RedWillow Macclesfield is one of the stops!

Pull on the red suit (or the pointy hat) and join a sea of Santas making their way around RedWillow, The Fountain, Bollington Tap, The Wharf and plenty more.

It’s all for a good cause too. £10 gets you a Santa or Elf outfit, with £5 of that going to Cardiac Risk in the Young. Already got your own outfit? It’s £5 to join in.
