Howdy, all, Neville Loudmouth here .....

Brilliant night at Trusthorpe Village Hall with fellow thespians from Unofficial STARSperforming a murder Mystery to help raise funds for Sutton on Sea & Trusthorpe Carnival. Great to be able to support other community groups.

PS - the Limeys in the audience were a fantastic crowd but, amazingly, failed to guess whodunnit 🤣

I'm making a very personal appeal to followers of my page to directly help youngsters aged 7 to 16 in Sutton, Mablethorpe and surrounding communities. Please read what Unofficial STARS are doing during the summer holidays to engage youngsters in performance arts, at no cost to families. You can help them by voting for their project in a competition to win up to £1,000 for this and other similar future events. Just follow the link below to read more about it and cast your vote.

Thank you in anticipation of your support.
Chris

TicketSource are inviting event organisers to apply for a £1,000 grant to help fund their next community event.

Is this something that any of the followers of this page can help with, please?

Can you help us ..........?

Our two Meridale Youth Groups that take place on a Tuesday (7 – 11year olds) and on a Friday (secondary school age) are popular and well supported. A core group of volunteers regularly give up their own time to run the groups but there are occasions when further volunteers would be most welcome to cover inevitable and unavoidable absences. If you, or anyone you know, could spare an hour or two helping with activities or supervising outdoor play choices, this is your chance. Of course, anyone working with children must be DBS cleared but this can be organised by Meridale.

We have supported several youngsters working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards and this works both ways, it helps us and ticks the scheme criteria.
Please do pop in on a Tuesday evening for a chat if you feel this would be of any interest.

We are also reaching out to the community for suggestions and recommendations for children’s activities that we could invite into the groups. We wish to increase the variety of activities and entertainments on offer. We have a small budget and can apply for grants to help us stage child-focussed interests. The groups are reasonably well staffed for crafts and cooking. However we would welcome sport, digital, technological, musical, circus skills, drama, magic, party entertainment or even animal related interests to engage the children for an hour or two and give them a taste of something different that is not present in their usual social circles.

Again, do you know of a contact that would fit the criteria, something you have recently experienced with your child that has proved popular? If so, please comment below or contact Meridale and we will investigate further.

Thanks so much for reading this post and we look forward to continuing the great work that the Meridale Youth Groups currently undertake.

One of the biggest puzzles about Unofficial STARS next production is what the stage & set will look like. After a visit to rehearsal at St Mary's Hall this afternoon, I can tell you - it's absolutely amazing! I can't recall any production previously staged in Mablethorpe that looks so professional. It would give many a larger company with their own theatre a run for their money. If you want to see what I mean and enjoy the bonus of a really entertaining mystery thriller in late May/ early June, just check out their page or website,
