We don’t often do things like this, but I’d urge all of our followers to have a read of the below, and sign the petition if possible.

Hospitality has taken an absolute battering recently, with supplier costs, bills, business rates, NI Contributions and wages all increasing rapidly over the last couple of years.

We are one of the heaviest taxed industries in the UK, contributing to the Government pot through VAT, Income Tax, National Insurance Contributions, Corporation Tax, Alcohol duties that are passed on by suppliers, sugar tax on the soft drinks, recycling levies on the empty bottles, and if there’s anything left after all of that, dividend tax.

The playing field is not level, and with pubs shutting at the rate of two a day so far this year, surely it would be better for VAT to be reduced to 10% to keep businesses afloat and paying the all the other taxes than having them shut and getting nothing

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

What a day!🎯🍻

We were proud to host the Craft Union National Darts Final at Brackens, Alvaston for the second year running and it certainly didn’t disappoint. From an electric afternoon of top-level darts to an incredible evening with Stephen “The Bullet” Bunting, the atmosphere was something special from start to finish!

We’re proud to be hosting the Craft Union National Darts Final at Brackens, Alvaston for the second year running, and this Saturday is set to be a big one 🤩

We’re thrilled to welcome Stephen “The Bullet” Bunting, who will be joining us from around 5pm. He’ll kick things off with a meet and greet in our newly decorated function room, before taking to the main bar for a live exhibition from around 7pm. The grand final itself will be played out earlier in the afternoon 🥳
