We've been doing this since 2000 for the fun of it and occasionally some beer and lunch money! Back in 2000 we noticed that people were visiting the town and we would overhear them discussing where to have a drink and where to eat. Often the places they mentioned were not somewhere we would EVER go ourselves and they simply weren't aware of the places just off the beaten track, the best spots to s

ee the castle, Millennium Green, the weirs and bridges or Whitcliffe. Much less, the great countryside and eating, drinking and accommodation in easy reach when using Ludlow as a base for a longer stay.

'What a shame' we would think 'to come all the way to Ludlow and make the wrong choice of where to have lunch or dinner'. Come to Ludlow is the sort of 'go here, it's great!' guide that WE would like to be able to use if we were visiting somewhere for the first time and didn't want to rely on the official tourist guide (which has to be nice about all the places that advertise in it) or who has the biggest advertising budget or most central location. Our Story

Back in 2000 I started working here and noticed that people were visiting the town and I would overhear them discussing where to have a drink and where to eat. Often the places they mentioned were not somewhere I (or many locals) would EVER go ourselves and they simply weren't aware of the places just off the beaten track and the best spots to see the castle, Millennium Green, the weirs and bridges or Whitcliffe.

I started posting a few recommendations and favourite places and have been doing it on and off for the whole of the 21st Century (so far!).
