𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 ❤️
Many of you have been asking after Chris, and with his family’s permission, it breaks our hearts to share that he passed away peacefully on Saturday evening.
Chris was part of the furniture, part of the Jollies family, and a friend to so many who walked through our doors.
Outside of the Jollies, Chris was well known throughout the local area as a gifted mathematician and teacher. He taught and tutored generations of local families, helping countless people through school and beyond. There was rarely a day when someone walked through our doors who didn’t know Chris, had been taught by him, or had a family member who had. The impact he had on our community is impossible to measure.
Whether you knew him from the classroom, from his tutoring, or simply from sharing a chat and a laugh at the pub, you’ll know what a genuinely kind, super intelligent and caring man he was.
The Jollies won’t be quite the same without him. His stories, his wit, his warmth, and the way he made everyone feel welcome will stay with us forever.
We’re sure many of our regulars will share our sadness at this news. Thank you to everyone who showed Chris such friendship and kindness over the years.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
Goodnight, Chris. Thank you for everything. You’ll always be one of our own, and you’ll never be forgotten. 🤍🪽
