Our Story

Retaining its character from the former Old Packe Horse, with original wooden floors and open fireplace, you’re sure to be taken in by The Organ Grinder’s welcoming atmosphere and impressed by our diverse offering of Ales, Ciders and a thoughtfully selected range of Wines and Spirits. The converted Stable Bar and Ostler’s House offer a cosy alternative to the lively Main Bar area, whilst the Garden and outdoor Ostler’s Bar couple up as the perfect Al Fresco option throughout the year.

Treat yourself at the end of the working week with Friday’s highly popular ‘Early Doors Club’ offer, serving Real Ale and Cider, and up to fifteen Gins, at discounted prices. Our knowledgeable and hard-working Bar Team spend a considerable amount of time ensuring our drinks offering is of the highest quality, and work with the very best local and award-winning suppliers to provide you with a range of Pork Pies, freshly made Rolls and (coming soon) Ploughman’s style Lunch Boards, all of which are available seven days a week.

The Hayloft, our Events Space and Craft Gin Bar, is home to regular events, including a bi-weekly Pub Quiz, monthly Open Mic Night and regular sell-out evenings of “Gin & Jazz”. With a capacity for up to sixty people, The Hayloft is also a private-hire venue suitable for a variety of occasions from birthday parties and weddings, to a contemporary meeting-place for businesses, community groups and societies.

Our staff adore dogs, so should you wish to bring your four-legged friend along with you, rest assured they will be well looked after. We welcome Children into our Main Bar area until 8pm, but they are welcome all evening in The Stable Bar and Ostler’s House.
