The world cup is almost upon on us and we’ll be showing as many home nation games as we can, timezones and licenses allowing.

For the Group stage that means its just England games to start with:

Wednesday 17th - 9pm (back room)
Tuesday 23rd - 9pm (back room)
Saturday 28th - 10pm (front room)

The big screen will be up and plugged into the big sound so you know it’s going to look and sound great!

No reservations needed for any of these games, just turn up as early as you like and find a spot.

3 WEEKS TO GO!

With all this amazing sunshine we’re now finally enjoying it feels like the perfect time to officially announce our line up for what promises to be a banging debut Another Thought All-Dayer.

Saturday June 13th sees a bunch of our friends take over various venues along Blackhorse Road’s brewery mile in Walthamstow for a multi venue dance festival.

This will be the first time we’ve taken Filly Brook on the road and we are very happy to say that our good pals at Pretty Decent will be hosting us in their brilliant E17 taproom from noon to midnight.

If the sun shines like it is today then we might even be outside for the perfect yard party, either way you know with this line up it will be an epic party in one of London’s best breweries. What’s not to like about that!

The sun really is finally here this weekend and just in time for the long bank holiday.

We’re staying open until midnight on Sunday with djs Chicken Lips, Mind Fair and Wrekin Havoc taking us through from 3pm to close as they celebrate their new release on .

Not to be out-done, launch their new yakitori Sunday grill menu and keep the kitchen open from midday to 8pm.

We’re keeping it casual all weekend so no bookings needed, just drop by for a drink and order at the bar!

Yakitori Mix Grill

Winters over. Summer will be here (soon) and Chef Fumio is gonna start grilling instead of roasting.

Classic Japanese yakitori-style mixed grill with some British bbq classics with a Japanese twist.

Every Sunday from 24th May we’re serving chicken thighs with shoyu dare on skewers, fluffy tsukune chicken burger, prawns with Yuzukosho and smoked tofu all served with herby new potato salad, miso aubergine and Asian slaw with extra citrus-y ponzu.

If this doesn’t shout sunshine and summer then we don’t know what does.

There are plans for occasional specials with rare cuts such as chicken liver and ox tongue for the more adventurous eaters out there.

The launch of our new Sunday yakitori grill handily coincides with our free bank holiday party with Chicken Lips & friends DJing and really is a puntastic coincidence. ( )

Chef Fumio is still on the look out for recipe for chicken lips if anyone has a suggestion.

May is well under way and so is our program of events.

is back tonight for another sold out supperclub and then our favourite dj duo & return on Friday for a vinyl only session with the rotary.

Looking ahead to the bank holiday weekend we have a big free all day party on Sunday 24th when we welcome our friends from the down to launch the new Moondata remix package out soon on . We can all look forward to a rare Chicken Lips dj set alongside more from the Wrekin Havoc and Mind Fair crews!

To round off the month our Nordic friends Hugh Mane, OsloFønk and Discosnuten stop by for their first disco session at FB.

The window is opening and the sun looks like it might be coming back, for a couple of days at least, so it feels like the perfect moment to introduce our new rosé selection.

We’ve got all bases covered from the light and delicate through more fruit forward bottles and our delicious pink Pét-Nat for some fizz.

Languedoc, Basque and Veneto; four rosés, three countries, all pairing beautifully alongside the menu.

Expect warm, welcoming selections, a few left turns and straight up classics.

Almost 27 years ago I started working at nuphonic records and one of the first projects I was involved with was the debut live show from Faze Action.

Held at the long-gone Embassy Rooms on Tottenham Court Road the hype was massive around this show, packed inside and a huge guest list scrum outside.

Fast forward to last and I can’t tell you how much of an (emotional) honour it was to have Faze Action play live here at Filly Brook with all the original band members from that 1999 show in the line up! Except of course Robin Lee who now lives in South Korea, we missed you Rob!

Last night was one of those special evenings, FB packed to the rafters again, loads of music heads in from those early nuphonic days, superb sound and a band that were simply on fire! Much love and respect to Tuggy, Richard, Mikey, Zeke, Giselle, Pete, Des, Pete Z and of course Simon Lee.

Their new album Distant Dreams is out today so go pick up the vinyl or get the digital.
