Very proud to be presenting Mélys at the next Folk in the Jar event – Weds 23 Sept.
Mélys’ first EP ‘Agua’, organic and acoustic, was then followed by ‘For Once’, an EP tinged with indie-folk tones, softly leaning towards rock.
Navigating between English and Spanish – her soft, husky voice takes us to those precious moments when the mind wanders and is carried away by melancholy.
Her floral folk opens the door to a world where acoustics and electronics merge to make way for other sounds.
Singer-guitarist-composer Mélys draws her lyrics from the emotions and sensations that the organic world makes her feel.

Omam Dawn – invites listeners into an intimate and mythical world of blind birds, wise fishermen, and talking dolphins. She plays a 1950s parlour guitar, is self-taught and is accompanied by clarinet and violin.

Join us every Monday night at Jam in a Jar on Green Lanes for an evening of music, connection, and creativity. We’re excited to welcome musicians and creatives of all levels to share some tunes, collaborate, and soak up the vibrant Harringay scene.
The jam is hosted by the rhythm section of Alpaca Bass Trap: Julien Baraness on guitar, Jason Boyd on bass, and Gaet Allard on drums. Expect lively covers, a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of chances to meet and connect with like-minded creatives. 🎶

Las Chanchas is an exciting, London-based Latin band known for their high-energy, contemporary takes on Amazonian chicha and hypnotic tropical cumbia. Formed in 2025, the group uniquely blends traditional Latin rhythms with 1960s surf and psychedelic rock using a stripped-back, minimalist lineup that delivers a remarkably full sound.

The Motherwolf Club are a collective whose comedy shows have been described as “Hugely inventive” [★★★★½ – Reviews Hub] and “Irresistibly fun… a triumph!” [★★★★ – Everything Theatre].

Their shows have appeared everywhere from Glastonbury to Guernsey, Bestival to Bulgaria, Port Eliot Festival to Paris Arena…

But now they’re going back to the pub…

Throwing the script out entirely and handing the mic to you, Joe Public, to do your worst… or your best… as long as it’s new sh*t… FAST AND BULBOUS wants it. What could go wrong?!

Got a poem you wrote on your phone at 4am you never had the guts to show? Been looking for an ear for a song you loved the chorus of but got stuck on finding a middle 8 for?

Bring your idea seeds, your unfinished rambles, your pre-works in progress and FAST AND BULBOUS will do the rest.

The Lineup

To set the bar suitably low, alongside the open mic the September show will have sketchy, underpracticed performances from feature artists:

– John Swale – New harmonica laced rantings from the toe curling champion
– Astro Wild – super camp anthems (tech problems guaranteed)
– Enrico Touché – the clumsiest clown in Clapton (but in Haringey)
– Spike Zephaniah – sketchy sketching from Pompey’s most stoned puppeteer
– William Benckert – Radical belly dancing from Sweden. (Apologies in advance)
– Kid Anansi – Spoken word (is actually rather good)
