Comedy Gobbledygook was launched in March 2017 to put Bermondsey, the ever-gentrifying heart of Southeast London yet the then comedy desert within zone 2, on London's comedy map. The night takes place on the 2nd Tuesday each month. Door opens at 7:30pm and the show starts at 8pm and aims to finish promptly by 10pm. Our venue is the gorgeous Gregorian Arm's at 96 Jamaica Road, SE16 4SQ. It's only a
few minute walk from Bermondsey station (Jubilee line, after London Bridge for eastbound trains). Twitter:
We pitched ourselves to be the showcase room for quirky and diverse acts from the London open mic circuit when the show was launched. As we are now attracting interests from comedians based outside London, we are bringing an even larger pool of Talents to Bermondsey's front door. Where we are able to secure professional comedians to come trying out new materials, the show is closed by a professional headliner, as often has been the case since last summer. Entry is free, we also offer free shots at the door. If you like the night, we will collect donations based on your own discretion at the end of the show that reward the comedians who perform. (For comedians who wish to perform with Comedy Gobbledygook, we are not able to take any further spot requests this year. Apologies as the show has been oversubscribed. We are fully booked until July and spots at any later dates this year will be offered to acts who previously inquired but have not been allocated any spots yet)
