Forgot to put this up prior to the Niter but following some daftness around what’s happening in soul land, we’d agreed a mission statement.

You’ll be happy to hear the 6T’s is a venue marked safe from AI generated music. Of all kinds but particularly that which is closest to our hearts.

We’ve been in this game long enough and met countless incredible (often penniless) singers, writers and producers to know that the talent and creativity in the music our idols have created does not belong in a training model for the talentless to create bad facsimilies of the black experience.

If you think popping a few words into a computer bears equivalence with the passion, pain and genius of our soul brothers and sisters we’re not quite sure the 100 Club all-nighter is for you…

Should you consider there’s not enough enjoyment in the millions of soul tracks already produced, we’ve worked hard to find you even more hidden in the vaults..

Tempted to give AI the time of day? Hit us up and we’ll direct you to an endless fountain of the good stuff.

Was that an anniversary come early?

Stunned and grateful.

One of the busiest in years. And very enjoyable too.

So much on and still you chose us. We’re flattered to have the most wonderful people to call our 6T’s community. So many old faces in attendance which were a joy to see. Plenty sharing their first time in the basement with us and we’re sure they’ll be back to add to the 100 Club family. And of course the happy hardcore without whom these nights would be nothing.

Carla was particularly poignant at 5:50 and we’re not too proud to say those claps gave us wet cheeks.

Huge thanks to Ralf and his German team for adding that special Euro sparkle. John for a set of obscurities that have become his trademark. Keith for whom I think after Saturday night there’s no question no one can fill those shoes. Butch for being quite simply unassailable.

Enjoy the summer break on your weekenders, hols and ventures.

We’ll see you in August when we can do it all again. ❤️

Sadly, the 6TS Rhythm ‘N’ Soul club will be saying goodbye to our long-standing, Scottish, resident DJ Keith Money at the end of this year.

Keith has had a gloriously long run at our 100 Club venue for all of this century at least. Time blurs the memory but I’m pretty sure I got to know Keith at the 6TS Cleethorpes weekenders, firstly as a customer, then as a friend. After hearing him guest DJ at the Saturday afternoon League Of Nations sessions, representing Scotland of course, I was impressed by his collection - but above all his taste in soul music.

When the opportunity arose, I hesitantly asked him if he’d like to join the DJ roster at our nighters and was very pleased (and slightly shocked) that he jumped at the chance to travel the 700 miles round trip to play records for an hour and a bit in a small, smoky (then) underground club.

He joined a formidable line-up that included Mick Smith, Butch, Shifty and myself, but complimented us with his inspired selections. Deon Jackson ‘Someday The Sun Will Shine’, Soul Incorporated ‘My Proposal’ , the Honey-Bs ‘That’s What Love Can Do’, Oscar Perry ‘Is It Hard To Know’, the Dontells ‘I’m Gonna Tell The World’ and Robert Tanner ‘Sweet Memories’ have been some of his many signature tunes over the decades, he even revived Harvey Averne ‘Never Learned To Dance’ - making it into a massive national sound.

Apart from the music we’ll miss his presence as a great bloke to socialise with, always enthusiastic about the club, great fun and a wealth of knowledge.

We’re announcing this early in case any of you can’t make the later dates (he’s away for the anniversary so this one, August 22nd and October 31st).

Well we’d braced for a storm and you brought the sunshine.

Huge thanks for everyone who persevered on failing trains, etc. last night to bring a fantastic atmosphere to the basement once more.

Lots of new, smiling young dancers and hopefully after last night’s top class showing, fingers crossed, they’ll be back for more. And the old guard too, enjoying it as much as ever.

No matter how good the DJs are, there’s no club without you and we appreciate every single mile you’ve travelled to share in the magic.

Fab sets from all including our guests Josh and Jamie from the brilliant team at The Curse Of Soul.

Super to have Tim back, despite Aventi’s best efforts to delay him, who played a brilliant Tobi Lark track that’s been in our heads all day. Keep coming back for that one.

Joel knocked it out the park again and left our limbs in tatters.

Butch playing a new coverup that we thing will go massive this year. He’s just too good isn’t he?

Keith’s back for May with a German guest and more.

See you then! Get some rest and recharge.
