Just want to apologise to anyone trying to find out when we were going to be serving the x collab golden ale. I had explicitly asked the team not to put it on until I was back in the country and could drink it myself, but as I have now returned and serendipitously there was an empty line right at close last night, we could put it on. It is delicious. And as a reminder to all of London, we have AC and our downstairs is lovely and cool too!

A third lager joins our lineup… We’re delighted to have Pilsner on - which also happens to be gluten free too! Flavour wise, it’s the crispest of the bunch and the lowest ABV at 4%, and sits really nicely alongside Schneider Hell and Utopian Lager to complete the trio.

If you weren’t already aware, we now do traditional cheese and onion rolls: soft white baps with a big slab of cheddar, onion and beer & onion jam - this batch made with Pillars’ Pale Lager!

It’s also important to us to try and get as many local (as possible) breweries in - and currently we have four from independent London breweries: Table Beer (Bermondsey), Rafiki (Deptford), You Win! (Tottenham) and Pillars (Walthamstow)!

We’re ’s South East London Pub of the Year 🥹

I’ve always said that the beer brings people in, but the team get you to stay, and come back again. We’re lucky to have these four team members (and a shout-out to regular helpers Josh, Maddy, Rosie, Josie and Louis!) with us here, providing the life and soul.

We’re now into the heats for London Pub of the Year (where we go against Oli’s other pub, , who’ve won SW London) against some of London’s finest drinking holes.

We also give thanks to our worthy other SE London regional winners, , and to champion our area for truly excellent places to get a pint. Independence has never felt better!

Come grab a pint to celebrate - we’ve got on the hand-pulls: Charrington Oatmeal Stout, Running Pale, Best Bitter, Crouch Vale Amarillo and Shimmy. And as always, CAMRA discount for card-carrying members!

We’re absolutely delighted to participate in ’s annual Great Farmhouse Exploration this year, and are treating it as our 1st Birthday Party… because we’ll be opening up our downstairs bar on Friday for service!

The whole premise is that we’ll have something for everyone, or maybe you’ll find a new favourite. I’ve known Miranda and Bates for years and been lucky enough to visit their gorgeous brewery in the middle of Norfolk, and I’m so excited to bring these beers to Bermondsey for you!

We did *technically* open the doors on Friday 7th March 2025, but the 8th March was our first full proper day so I don’t necessary think it’s a late post, and what a year it’s been! We’ve got a little event planned next week and will post about that tomorrow. Thank you to all of your support; we appreciate the warm welcome we’ve received. The pub would be nothing without our wonderful team, so here we all are, well before we were allowed a pint - can you tell who’s who?

All aboard the hype train, we’re one of the launch events for ’s annual Putty release. Aside from the haze-bomb DIPA itself, we’ll have a few more Verdant beers on, including their rather delicious Burnthouse Porter on the hand-pulls, and other hoppy stuff on keg. Half price pickled onions all night. See you on Friday!

We’re open 12-3 today with complimentary nibbles from some of our favourite suppliers - British Territorial cheeses from and a special game pie from Mr Barrick. An absolutely stunning Acadian red ale from and has just gone the handpulls which is our pick with it. Have a lovely day from all of us at The Hand & Marigold!
