Bassist Sam Casey leads a chordless quartet playing swinging standards with an open, interactive sound. A Birmingham Conservatoire graduate and active on the Birmingham jazz scene, Casey draws influence from Paul Chambers, Ray Brown, and Felix Moseholm. He is joined by James Borland on trumpet, Toby Evans on tenor saxophone and George Prentice-Povey on drums for a night of straight ahead swing and melodic improvisation.

Rasika Ajotikar is a singer trained in the Hindustani music tradition and has been exploring diverse genres and styles over the past two decades. Josh Middleton is an accordionist and composer, specialising in European folk styles from Celtic to Eastern European folk. He is the UK’s leading Klezmer accordionist, and works in theatre as a musical director. Their music both breaks with and draws upon tradition. They explore the gaps, the in-between spaces, and the surprising connections: how voice and accordion converse, how their sounds meet, and what meanings emerge in their open and curiosity-driven encounters.

Seth Tabatznik is an indie-folk musician born in London and now based in South Africa’s Western Cape. Inspired by 1960s folk artists like Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake and James Taylor, and shaped by spiritual and musical mentorship from Rainer Scheurenbrand and Nick Mulvey.
His sound is honest and intentional, rooted in live instrumentation and simple, heartfelt lyrics exploring self-discovery, consciousness, and our relationship with the Earth; blended with a modern indie sensibility.
