The Constitution recently celebrated its 150th birthday. It is one of the few remaining traditional English pubs in Camden offering traditional pub pursuits: Ales and beers, pool table, dartboard, juke box and fruit and quiz machines. Pub grub is available at lunchtime between 12 noon to 2.30 pm Monday to Friday. Everything is under five pounds. The bar staff are friendly and super efficient. We'd
lay bets that the service at The Con is faster than anywhere in Camden. The garden is beautiful and has won many London in Bloom and Camden in Bloom awards. There is a smoking area which is heated during winter and where you can take your drinks. The beer garden at The Con has won awards for Best Beer Garden in the Camden In Bloom and London in Bloom competitions. After lifting the cup for the winner of first prize a couple of years ago, we decided to rest on our laurels and let other people have a chance. The south-facing garden overlooks the Regent’s Canal and is an oasis in the middle of Camden and a fantastic sun trap. Time Out said of it: "If you can't make Ibiza this summer, go to the Constitution beer garden". The Con cellar bar has been called the best kept secret on the Camden live music scene. First Friday every month; Jazz. The intimate underground venue with natural good acoustics, is a springboard and space to shine for many of London's top young players. International names such as Mark Turner, Larry Grenadier, Jeff Ballard Joel Frahm, Will Vinson have all appeared.
