Is working beautifully and in full effect at The Compton arms, every day now, possibly forever.
Joining Air Con this Bank Holiday late license party will be our very & Pysch Milligan.. or / to his handlers, in their ‘Hired Hands’ guise of heritage.
We have been slowly building a lovely set up for one off events (hidden Martin speakers, bespoke corner booth, new gear) less flashy t**t vibes, more organically, ergonomically flashy t**t vibes.
We are not being a dj bar, but with the impending Arsenalapalooza hits good to have the option to play some nice records for a special occasion.. (we have a very big one planned for the parade) .
Expect psych, post punk , rock, weird folk, dub, and nuggets to keep you warm in the chilly pub climes.
There is no food rafter 6pm too, so the garden is ‘fair game’.
Come join us for a couple of pints , cocktails, and Rare Earth b sides.
Up the Arse etc ✊🏾❤️

We like to think we have all angles covered here at Compton Arms, all the little details covered..
you are probably thinking I’m referencing the new air conditioning we installed this week.. you would be wrong in this case - but it is a total game changer with the hot weather coming.
No, I’m referring to the first ever ‘If places were faces Arsenal Edition’ the first of it kind and now up in the loo as some high brow ‘Piss Literature’ for you to enjoy.

Our pals the Heretics have generously gifted us their first edition, which not only can you chuckle at whilst calmly waiting to make space for another beverage… you can buy your own copy via the QR code on the last pic.

Truth be told, we don’t really use instagram as much as modern hospitality seems to require at The Compton. It’s to pass on info worth knowing, ‘have a giggle’ , say thanks, show support, or in the right circumstances, trumpet your achievements... (our loose parameters anyway).
The last one feels justified here I think as our recent inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide (official) has been a massive boost, & a point of pride for all of us here.
Without Rake ‘s hard work , skill and love for their business (it really is great fit), the conversation wouldn’t have started, but it’s also its recognition’s for all of the team that really put their heart and soul into it.. right through to Courtney on the front door and the regulars / handymen (you know who you are) who help create this lovely little boozer..
A special mention must go to our mate Freya Coote who has been advising & championing us for years..

I’m not sure we have collectively had a slow news day since 2016, so by the modern high standards afforded to information of import..
the fact that we are now open on FRIDAYS. from 12pm for drinks (food coming soon), doesn’t register ‘richterly’..

Burns Night lands on a Sunday this year, so we thought we’d break tradition and host a Sunday evening service to commemorate this most poetic & healthily whisky imbued occasion.
This prime territory in culinary terms, so it should end up being a very tasty evening.. if only was in the country for it 😢

They say ‘the people make the pub’ and i think you would be very hard pressed to find anyone who embodied this pub more than Esther this last six years. Some people are born to do this, and Esther is a natural. She made everyone feel special, whether the lads at the bar, the diners in the restaurant or the guys that deliver the bloody crisps.. Her staff would run through a brick wall for her.
That s**t is rare.
Its been a few weeks since Esther’s send off, but the absence has been felt by everyone. I think i can comfortably speak for everyone that has worked or drank here in the time that she was behind this bar by wishing her the very best in raising her little family.
Thanks for all your hard work for us over the last half decade Est, this pub will never forget you.. (and hopes to see you very soon plus any new editions 🤞🏾)

Tonight really is the last dance, so to speak 😭
It has been a whirlwind (nearly ) two years here with Dara and her wonderful team.. to say it’s been a success would be a dramatic understatement.
Its been a privilege to watch something resonate with people so emotionally up close. Dara is, and always be a fabulous embodiment of the love and talent she puts into Tiella’s food, and that resonates now for The Compton Arms too.. of that also we are immensely proud.
In some quarters the decision to go for an Italian menu was questioned (due to some excellent operations close by) , but never by us after we properly met Dara.
The resounding success soon put pay to those fears.. Eternal credit must go to the lovely Jenny ( ) for setting us up! too! Sterling work!

The Compton is better known and more loved because of the passion and energy the Tiella crew have put in.
Thanks for all your hard work guys ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾❤️❤️❤️

Considering everything Dara has achieved and where she has worked, i feel this is could still very much be a beginning for her - I have no doubt we’ll be seeing her in the press, on the telly, on our the bookshelves (even more so though than now) in the future.. but most hopefully, at the end of our bar 😉
Please pop down for a drink tonight send off not only Dara, but her fabulous team too, all of which are like family now. (I somehow don’t have a pic of Diogo! Sorry mate)

We made new tables for the garden, for a less rickety experience 😉.

Let’s talk about beer, something I don’t think we talk about enough. This one is a straight up banger from . It’s next level, pillowy, tropical deliciousness and you really should have a pint. It won’t be around forever but expect to see these guys on the bar as often as humanly possible.
