We are delighted to announce that Daniel Krikler (Fiddler on the Roof) will star as Władysław Szpilman in the world premiere of The Pianist coming to Park200, alongside an award-winning creative team.

Based on Władysław Szpilman‘s extraordinary internationally bestselling memoir, this landmark new production, adapted and directed by the acclaimed Thom Southerland (Titanic the Musical), brings one of the twentieth century’s most remarkable true stories to the stage featuring Szpilman’s own music for the very first time.

The production will feature new lyrics by an international group of writers and musicians, bringing fresh voice to Szpilman’s original compositions. The lyricists and songwriters include two-time Grammy nominee Carol Connors, acclaimed songwriter David Batteau, jazz singer Wendy Lands and collaborator Jim Gillard, Grammy-nominated Michael Ruff, Szpilman’s son Andreas Szpilman, and award-winning lyricist Marcy Heisler. Together, their work allows Szpilman’s music to sit at the heart of the production, not simply as accompaniment, but as another voice in the telling of his story.

📣 Palestine: Peace de Resistance returns to Park Theatre this summer

This is comedy where silliness collides with survival. Expect an open call for mass civil disobedience, equitable distribution of hand puppets, and some of the silliest faces you’ll ever see.
