The Starting Gate Built in 1875, The Starting Gate is a Grade-II-listed public house just a stone's throw from Alexandra Palace
(363)

If we’re being honest, The Starting Gate, a unique dog-friendly pub resting in Alexandra Palace, isn’t just named after the starting point of Alexandra Park Racecourse… it’s also where some of life’s best memories begin. Wrapping around Station Road and St Michael’s Terrace, there’s no need to race to get here – our historic, Grade II-listed building has been around since 1875 and we plan to be here for many years to come. Our stunning Victorian features provide the perfect backdrop for all occasions, from savouring sumptuous pub dishes over afternoon tea in our beer garden to sipping on free-flowing tipples during your next big event – just make a large group booking first. There’s even a quiet area with plug sockets for work meetings, followed by after-work drinks, of course. You might insist wild horses couldn’t drag you away from all of this – including Monday’s pub quiz or Thursday’s live music – but if they do, it will likely be because of the nearby sprawling serenity of Alexandra Park or Alexandra Palace Ice Rink’s slippery surfaces.

We’ve barely recovered from the World Cup, but England are back and so are our plans to spend 90 minutes cheering at the screen with a pint in hand.

Showing England v Spain, the UEFA Nations League, on Saturday 26th September at 7:45pm.

Round up the squad and get ready for all the pints, a unified love for the game, and completely unbiased refereeing opinions you’d expect from watching England down the pub. Football, best watched at your local.

Tables won’t hang about, be sure to book yours now through our website (link in bio).
