From 1st November, Overtures Ensemble (our boozy social choir!) will be moving date, time, and venue:

Upstairs at Louche Soho, Fridays 6-7:30pm, followed by our regular singalong until 2am.

Our last Monday choir + piano karaoke session at the Prince of Wales Drury Lane will be on Monday 21st October from 7-11pm.

Saturday School: Acting Through Song

Join us for a series of fun, relaxed, boozy musical theatre workshops, designed for beginner to intermediate performers. No acting/vocal training or experience required!

Each week, we’ll focus on a different aspect of acting through song, giving you tools and techniques you can apply right away to shows, auditions, or your favourite karaoke night (/piano singalong bar..?).

You’ll learn to build a warm-up routine, analyse a song for performance, understand your physical impulses while singing, and much more. To top it all off, the course will finish with an informal showcase, giving anyone who wants to the chance to put it all in practice with a supportive audience of friends and family!

Dates: Saturdays in October (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th) and November (9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th)
*NOTE: There is no class on Saturday 2nd November.

Times: 4:30-7:30pm (the bar opens from 4pm to give you a chance to get a drink and catch up before we start) - followed by an Overtures singalong from 8pm-2am.

Course Fees: £295

The fee includes all 8 workshops, end-of-term showcase, and free entry to Overtures on Saturdays after class.

The course is limited to 10 places to make sure there’s plenty of time for everyone to work individually on their songs. There will be additional drop-in spaces available for most sessions, but one-to-one coaching and participation in the showcase will be limited to those booked on the full course.

Overtures Summer School: Acting Through Song

Dive in with us for a series of fun, relaxed, boozy musical theatre workshops!

Each week, we’ll focus on a different aspect of acting through song, giving you tools and techniques you can apply right away to shows, auditions, or your favourite karaoke night (/piano singalong bar..?). Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a passionate newcomer, these workshops cater to all levels (18+) at an affordable price.

When: Thursdays in August (8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th) from 7:00-9:30pm - followed by an Overtures singalong until 2am!

Week 3 (22nd August): Building a Character
Week 4 (29th August): Bringing it All Together*

*The last session is followed by an optional informal showcase for invited friends and family from 9:30-11:00pm (and then Overtures until 2am).

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

As of 21st June 2024, Overtures’ door and membership fees will be updated. This is to ensure that we are operating within Louche Soho’s new venue licensing requirements.

Entry: £7 for non-members from 9pm-2am (previously £5 from 10-12, £10 from 12-2)

Membership: £12.50 per month or £150 per year. (£15 per month to include choir - same as before.)

Please note: Valid photo ID is now required to be scanned by Louche door staff on entry.

Please note that the new door and membership fees are the legal minimum that we are required to charge. We do everything we can to make Overtures affordable while following our venues’ rules and paying our performers and FOH staff fairly, and we appreciate your understanding.
