E17 Jazz are returning to the iconic Walthamstow Trades Hall on 5th December with an all Gershwin program. We'll be performing some fresh arrangements of old favourites as well as some lesser known Gershwin tunes.

A picture from the E17 Jazz plays Duke Ellington gig at the Trades Hall in Walthamstow on Sunday 13th December. It was so great to play at this iconic venue to such a receptive audience. We plan to organise more events there next year so watch this space!

LIVE MUSIC RETURNS!!!!
The award winning e17jazz returns from lockdown with a LIVE GIG in e17 at the fantastic Walthamstow Trades Hall. We're very excited to be bringing live music back to the borough after a difficult year. This special afternoon gig will be a tribute to the great Duke Ellington from the Jac Jones/Nick Tomalin Quartet. The Trades Hall is a large space with plenty of socially distancing seating and they have taken every precaution for reopening. The last in this series of gigs at E17 Virtual Jazz Club will be on Sunday 23rd August at 7.30pm and will feature a duo of John Turville on piano and Robbie Robson on trumpet. E17 Virtual Jazz provides a platform for artists to curate an evening of music from their homes via Zoom.

John Turville is one of the leading jazz pianists of his generation, and has won multiple awards for his two trio albums including MOJO’s #3 Jazz Album of the Year (2012), and ‘Best Album’ in the Parliamentary Awards 2011. Robbie is a very busy professional who has worked with among others Julien Arguelles and Bill Frisell.

For this gig they will be playing standards as well as tunes by Kenny Wheeler and perhaps some tunes reflecting John's love of tango music.

Registration for the gigs is free with the option of donating £5 to the artists.

On Sunday 9th August at 7.30pm E17 Virtual Jazz Club will play host to the duo of Tom Ollendorff on guitar and Will Barry on piano.
E17 Virtual Jazz provides a platform for artists to curate an evening of musical entertainment from their homes, to an audience via Zoom.
In 2015 Tom was awarded the Yamaha Scholarship for Outstanding Jazz Musicianship and has gone on to become one of the most talented young players on the scene, performing with among others Jeff Williams and Ari Hoenig.
We realise that many people are facing financial difficulties at the moment so registration for the event is free, but there is an option to pay £5 to support the artists.
Please note that registration for this event closes at 5pm on the day of the performance.

The next gig at the E17 Virtual Jazz Club will be on Sunday 2nd August at 7.30pm and will feature saxophonist Josephine Davies with Ben Somers on bass
E17 Virtual Jazz provides a platform for artists to curate an evening of musical entertainment from their homes, to an audience via Zoom.
Josephine is the 2019 Parliamentary Jazz Awards Instrumentalist of the Year, and this project with Ben is a result of them taking the opportunity of being under lockdown to write new material for saxophone and bass reflecting these unusual times.
