Hi there everybody.
Now, some of you may be aware that a competition known as The World Cup starts later this week.
So here at The Ship we will be showing as much of the action and as many of the games as we can. We have screens in our two bars and we will be showing matches on them during our normal opening hours.
Some matches are being played during the early hours of the morning and, obviously we won't be able to show them...sorry.
We are also running a World Cup Sweepstake. £5 per entry. There will be prizes for the people who pick the eventual winners, runners-up, losing semi-finalists. There will also be a b***y prize for the team that concedes the most goals during the group stage....so no need to despair if you pick Caracao, Qatar, Uzbekistan or Scotland!!!

A beautifully renovated Grade II listed premises moments from the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and Fenchurch Street. The Ship in Hart Street is a truly historic City of London Pub.

We offer a wide range of real ales, speciality beers, and wines.

Morning to you all.
We at The Ship would like to apologise to you all for the cock-up on Wednesday.
We left it late to let everyone know about the karaoke scheduled for the evening. As a result it was impractical to try and hold the event.
If you came down for it then please accept our apologies.
We will give plenty of notice for our next karaoke evening and we hope to see you all then.

Oh, we have made a bit of a mistake!!!
Tonight is our karaoke night and we've forgotten to announce it!!!
So sorry but our karaoke will be starting tonight (27th May) at 6.30pm.
Please come along and enjoy all the usual fun and mayhem.
We know it's terribly short notice, please accept out apologies.

Good morning to you all.
It took a little longer to open yesterday than we thought, so much cleaning and clearing up to do!!!
Apologies to those who tried to get in but couldn't. We did manage to open up late in the afternoon but we were still clearing boxes and cleaning glasses.

Good morning to you all.
We've been a little quiet lately but, trust us, we haven't been idle or lazy.
We are excited to announce that we are having a little refresh of our bar area and cellar. Don't worry, we're not changing things too much, it'll still be The Ship we all love.
To enable the work to take place we will be closed on Friday 8th - Monday 11th May.
All being good, we will re-open on Tuesday 12th May.
I'm sure we will be posting some before, during and after photos so keep your eyes on here and Instagram.

Last Friday (20th March) was the Spring Equinox and we at The Ship were so happy to host druids celebrating the event.
We have hosted the Druids for a few years now and it really is one of the best days of the year.
Everyone is so excited by the equinox and they are such a nice group of people to have here for the day.
Hopefully they will return next year.

Good morning all.
Today we welcome Northern Rising Unity Stout to our range of cask ales.
Northern Rising Unity Stout is a 4.4% ABV collaboration between Timothy Taylor's and Northern Monk.
We all know Timothy Taylor's but you may not be so familiar with Northern Monk. They are a fantastic brewery based up in Leeds...brewers of some superb craft ales over the last few years.
So, come in and try this amazing cask Stout here at The Ship.

A QUICK UPDATE.
Oops, nearly forgot to give you details of our little St Patrick's Day competition.
Our poster for today's celebration includes a host of people enjoying a drink or two...if you can name everybody in the poster we will give you a free Baby Guinness.
As a hint, think of the people working at The Ship and maybe a customer or two.

Today is Tuesday 17th March, St Patrick's Day and The ship is opening it's doors at 10am for all you wishing to celebrate early.
Guinness will be sold at a special price of £6 a pint until midday.
We will also offer Black Velvet at £6 a glass and 2 Baby Guinness for £6.

From 10am until noon we are offering a pint of Guinness at a special St Patrick’s Day price of £6 a pint. This offer runs through for the full 2 hours.
There will also be a special prize on offer throughout the day if you can answer a little puzzle...more details on this will be posted as we approach the big day.

Good morning everybody.
We have been a little distracted lately and we completely missed the opportunity to tell you all about Cheltenham 2026.
We are showing coverage of the Cheltenham racing festival on our TV everyday. Today is day 3 and it's always a good reason to come into The Ship, watch the racing, pick a few winners and, of course, have a drink or two or three.

We've had a little rest after Christmas but we are happy to announce that 25th February sees the return of our famous Karaoke night!!!
