Karen had the pleasure of travelling to Tűrkiye, hosted by one of our preferred partners. The first stop was Istanbul. From this area of Istanbul, we took a private boat cruise along the Bosphorus – an unforgettable experience and a great way to take in the sights and wonders of Istanbul’s skyline with its domes, palaces, mosques and Ottoman mansions.
After our stay in the city, we flew to Cappadocia (Kapadokya). This region truly feels like you have been transported to another world.
We were so fortunate to fly in a hot- air balloon. This experience takes riders soaring above the area’s canyons, fairy chimneys, and other fantastical rock formations. If you don’t fancy this experience, the colourful aerial display is something to behold from the ground. It was well worth the 4am start!
The second part of the trip, via Izmir, included a visit in the well-preserved streets of Ephesus, which offer a fascinating taste of what daily life was like for the ancient Greeks and Romans who lived in the city for hundreds of years. Alongside grand civic buildings, we walked around the remains of the library, shops, schools, temples, and even public toilets.
Our last nights were spent at the Aegean town of Bodrum, a popular holiday destination with its wealth of beautiful beaches. Other attractions include the Castle of St Peter and the Museum of Underwater Archaeology. There are plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants too.
Karen visited many hotels that were varied and offered so much choice from different locations and choices. If you are considering a holiday to Turkey, be sure to get in touch with us.
