We launched the Kansas Smitty’s bar in 2015 on Broadway Market as a home for the Kansas Smitty’s House Band who had already been making a name for themselves since 2013. Kansas Smitty’s (as they are now known) have since garnered fans from across the music community and beyond for their ambitious, original and cinematic mu
sic. Their fifth studio album will be out on !K7/Ever Records in 2021. Broadway Market remained the band’s home for the best part of five years. It became many other musicians and listeners home from home in east London. Many important events happened there, maybe one of these events even happened to you. Sadly the onset of the Covid era forced us to leave that place and to relocate. This launched a new chapter in the Smitty’s journey. We love music and we especially love jazz music. To keep doing what we love we created KSTV. This is a new online space for live jazz where five-nights-a-week our handpicked selection of London based musicians work their way through all the moods jazz has to offer. Whether your favourite flavour is Ray Charles or Charles Lloyd, we've got you covered. KSTV is another way for us to keep doing what we set out to do nearly ten years ago. To create, nurture and develop a home for a community of musicians. Kansas Smitty's has now successfully fostered a family of musicians for a decade, as well as many bar tenders, directors, designers, camera operators and producers. We intend to keeping doing this for many years to come. You can learn more about how to support us on that mission here.
