**NEW STRING ART KITS**

January is the time to bring in the new. These string art greetings card kits are great for children aged 8+.

Suitable from aged 5 to 105, Laurie's crafting workshops have been enjoyed all over the world - creating beautiful geometric designs using card and a needle and thread.

Since setting up Funky String Art in 2018, Laurie has run workshops for Imperial College London, Chelsea Theatre, and in May 2023, she was flown to the UAE, where she held four days of workshops as part of the Children’s Reading Festival in Sharjah. She has also worked with refugees and in community centres in deprived areas.

Not only do participants make beautiful geometric designs on card to take home, string art also enhances fine motor skills and reduces cortisol, the stress hormone, when concentrating on an intricate task. With her background in teaching, Laurie makes every single adult or child who joins her class feel very special and is excellent at boosting self-confidence.

Looking for an activity for your child that doesn't involve a screen? If so, a string art class is the perfect antidote to a summer of endless scrolling.

String is the craft of sewing
