Following huge success and growing fan base, Tango Jazz Quartet are back Soho on Monday 7 September.

This year the group returns to PizzaExpress Live for the fifth time with a renewed repertoire that explores a good part of traditional tango and the avant-garde tango by the famous composer Astor Piazzolla.

With 10 albums released 31 international tours made, including 7 consecutive years performing at the most prestigious venues in UK, TJQ return with their distinguished and innovative approach to interpreting Argentine Popular Music. The music of Tango Jazz Quartet ranges from traditional tango to the music of Astor Piazzolla, without ever leaving the realm of jazz.

Ahead of the hugely-anticipated October release of "Love Now Pay Later", Jo Harrop’s fifth album on Lateralize Records, Hampstead Jazz Club are proud to support 'Smoke Inside A Jar', the stunning first single which will be premiered on Friday 31st July at London’s Ronnie Scott’s.

Although she will always have jazz running through her veins, Love Now Pay Later sees Harrop diving headfirst into an uncharted sea of sublime Sixties soul. Produced and co-written by Chris Seefried, the roots of the song were inspired by a night out in one of New York’s most famous jazz clubs.

HJC presents ‘Tristan – Internal Dialogue” Led by pianist Tristan Wills.

This formidable rio brings together piano, double bass and drums for an intimate, raw set of modern jazz.

The music moves between atmospheric, reflective moments and more energetic, interactive passages, shaped in real time by the group. Rooted in contemporary jazz but with subtle influences from artists like Radiohead, the set leans into texture, space and spontaneity. Mostly instrumental, with a few vocal moments woven in, it’s music that feels honest and unpolished in the best way — focused on connection, interplay, and letting things unfold naturally.

Performing music from his second album ‘Americana‘ (released April 2025), Eddie Gripper tells the story of an 8,000 km hitchhiking journey from Alaska to California, completed in under two months during the summer of 2022. The music captures the vast landscapes and unforgettable moments along the way – from sleeping in the Alaskan wilderness to cycling down Santa Monica Pier – offering a vivid, hopeful, yet unflinching reflection on American life.

Having “already garnered comparisons with the greats” (Jazzwise), after the release of his debut album ‘Home’, pianist Eddie Gripper has rapidly established himself as a young contender on the national jazz circuit.

A reimagining of the jazz guitar trio, Harry Diplock brings his own take on melodic virtuosity to the world of jazz live from The Hampstead Jazz Club. Heavily inspired by masters of the French, Brazilian and American jazz scene, the trio has a unique sound that is distinctly original.

Featuring original compositions and an alternative line up of drums, double bass and electric guitar, this special performance gives the trio a chance to explore. Come for an evening of musical surprises!

Having released the critically acclaimed album “Trio & Friends” in 2023, the trio played across 8 countries for a 28 date tour in 2025 and are poised to release their new album “Swifts” in 2026.
