This Thursday at the T-Bird you can watch Don Biswas preparing for his Edinburgh show.

Don recently appeared in a stand-up comedy special for Radio 4 in which he spoke candidly about his mental health conditions and the impact they've had on his outlook.

For years, he’s struggled with things most people take for granted - from telling the time to following simple directions.

Not long after graduating from university he found himself sacked from not one, but two jobs, and he fell into a depression. Well into his 20s, Don decided to seek medical advice and doctors told him he had Dyspraxia, ADHD and mild Asperger's Syndrome. Suddenly, everything made much more sense.

Supporting Don is Geoff Alderman, who is taking his solo show ‘Tasteless’ to The Leiecester Comedy Festival.

It will be a show full of edgy one liners, longer bits and there is a twist at the end about the title.

In Leicester, Geoff is also appearing in the 2023 UK Pun Championships.

He has appeared in two well received solo shows and recently reached the final of Old Comedian of the Year and the Silver Comedian of the Year.

Winter is coming.

And the T-Bird bar is the place to hole up if you like great comedy, beer and cocktails.

This Friday sees the return of Kathryn Mather:

★★★★★ “A revelation… The Rochdale comic does a fine line in lugubriousness (the accent helps) and has some imaginatively skewed takes on things. Perfectly delivered asides… She’s very impressive” – The Wee Review

“The ultra-cynical Kathryn Mather… used to be a children’s entertainer, and now seems to relish the chance to explore darker thoughts her old job would never allow. Her black humour certainly hit a chord with the room.” – Chortle
“It’s not controversy for controversy’s sake, it’s deftly handled and occasionally veers towards surreal.” – Cup of Beans

“Her delivery is very downbeat in style, but this comes across as naturalistic. The material was well written, and it had a fresh feel to it. No one else is doing anything on welding or shipping losses and so this was a welcome change.” – Notts Comedy Review

Also on the bill are Adam Green, a former Balham comedian of the year and the following superb acts:

Max Norman
Reece Kidd
Marc Salmon
Adam Hopkins
Henning Nilsen
Ollie Reyhart

This Friday at the T-Bird Comedy Club (132, Blackstock Road) we have a Scotch good egg.

Gary Sansome is back.

Gary is a tough speaking, (to English folk anyway) off the wall Scottish Comedian. He’s performed across the globe at some of the biggest Comedy Clubs in the UK, Ireland North America, Australia and Mainland Europe including Carolines on Broadway in New York CIty, Yuk Yuks in Toronto and the Comedy Lounge in Perth, Australia. His sold-out Edinburgh debut show, Bald Man Sings Rihanna received both audience and critical praise, including a 5 star review from Bunbury Magazine. He annually hosts Scotfest in Tulsa, Olkahoma one of the biggest festivals celebrating Scottish Culture in North America. The festival attracts over 30,000 people across the weekend.

Also appearing is the whacky Rosana Susilovic with some top quality clowning.

Tim Reeves looks like a young Mark Lamarr, and is funny too.

Laura K McMahon
'Excitingly fresh and talented comedian whose confidence puts the room at ease' **** (Radio Ha-Ha).

Nobby Kobayashi is originally from Japan, but went to international school in the USA, before moving to the UK. With her diminutive figure, comical facial expressions and equally amusing movement, she enchants the audience with her unique take on her life in the UK, often viewed as outlandishly “quirky” (coz she’s foreign, innit?), yet utterly silly and entertaining.

“Too off-the-wall for Britain’s Got Talent” Geoff Whiting

Also on a great bill are:
Osama
Christopher Ali

Why don’t squirrels like conkers? You never see a squirrel eating them.

Anyway, Autumn (not Fall) is upon us. Soon, the skeletal trees will shiver in their newly denuded state. Posh couples will force their over-cosseted progeny into wellingtons, and we will all add extra layers of clothes only to swelter when venturing onto the Victoria Line.

Here at the T-Bird Comedy Club we’ll be celebrating the change of seasons with a change of compere. The pocket rocket that is Ana Little takes temporary charge on Friday the 21st.

She’ll be introducing a line-up as colourful as the many-hued foliage around Finsbury Park. Excitingly, a perennial favourite will return:

Nicole Harris specialises in a unique blend of improv and written material, creating a show that you won’t want to miss. She is like the Kinder Egg of comedians. You don’t know quite what you’ll get but it will definitely be a great surprise.
Nicole was the first woman to win Jewish Comedian of the Year in 2016 and has since gone on to be a finalist in the New Act of The Year competition in 2019 performing at the Hackney Empire. In the same year, Nicole was selected to host the prestigious AAA Stand Up Late show at the Gilded Balloon and is making a name for herself as ‘one to watch’ on the comedy circuit.

“Taking Laughter to the Next Level…” (Jewish Chronicle)

“Works a room like no other…” (Fulham Comedy Club)

“Can’t explain the amazing energy Nicole creates in a room… needs to be seen” (Pear Face Comedy Club)
Aaron Twitchen is also on. (It’s his first time in the basement club.) “Hilarious, warm, energetic and capable of busting some serious moves. Twitchen is a quadruple threat.” The Skinny

Also on the bill are the superb:

Gatis Kandis – Simon Cowell’s favourite comedian

Emily McQuaid

Gareth Ball

Jeroen Bloemhoff

Marc Salmon

Hello comedy lovers.

Tomorrow night (14th October) the T-Bird has an American theme. We welcome the brilliant Jack Dennis to our basement.

He’s played many of the big clubs in New York and is highly experienced.

Next up is Barbara Fernandez. She’s a septic tank too. Part rock singer, part actor She does batsh*t crazy stand-up, bursting into song about mental health and other life topics.

Next up is Essam Aljaedy. He’s seen many American films. (The American theme is wearing a bit thin here.) He has some great one liners and longer bits.

Josh Faulkner is the king of the one liner and sort of looks American.

Steve Dickhammer. I’m guessing it’s not his real name but it makes him sound like a tough American cop.

Anyway, it would be great to see you this Friday at just after eight.

This Friday 30th of September, at The T-Bird Comedy club we have an embarrassment of comedic riches. A cornucopia of corny jokes and a veritable smorgasbord of mirth:

Don’t believe us – then look below:

Laura McMahon has been based in the UK since 2012 with the exception of one immigration slip up in 2014. In 2018 alone Laura won the following for her work in comedy:
Top 20 Finalist at Funny Women Film Awards 2018 Official Selection

Audience Awards Comedy Finalist 2018 Official Selection

Next up is Emily McQuade - a stand-up comedian, writer, pen-hoarder, and regular contributor to the horror movie podcast 'Devil Times Five'. In 2019, she was a finalist in the Not-So-New Comedian Competition at Leicester Square Theatre.

Then, Peter Bazely returns, he’s a T-Bird favourite.

Calum Ross is on too:
'Talented and experienced' (BroadwayBaby.com).

And that’s not all you will also see:

Ed Mulvey
Osman S
Marc Salmon
Nobby Kobayashi

Please arrive shortly after eight to be sure of a seat.

This week, at The T-Bird Comedy club, it will be a corker.

First up we have Richard Wright:

Richard did his first gig on January 24th 2012. He did his first half hour solo show “Continuity scares me” at the Camden Fringe in 2013 and a second show “Full of Win” in 2014 at the Brighton and Camden Fringe festivals. Richard is dyspraxic and has a ginger beard.

Yes folks, Simon Cowell’s favourite comedian will be here to do some new material.

Idiosyncratic and fun, his act is never dull.

But Gatis isn’t the only talent:

Sean Sellers’ crazy characters, voices, and a knack for sketch and improv saw him win numerous accolades and awards as a young comedian in the United States.

“A very distinctive figure: A camp, intense American in an untied cravat and with a thick mop of hair that had such a mind of its own it deserves its own agent. He speaks in short, sharp sentences as he agitatedly expresses his hefty catalogue of peeves. His angsty, agitated style…makes him very watchable” — Steve Bennett, Chortle

It's a cracking line-up as you’ll also get to see:

Callum MacKenzie
Jimmy Gee
Evaldas Karosas
Adam Hopkins
Joe Marchant

With expertly mixed cocktails and excellently kept beers and ciders you’ll be giving The T-Bird four yesses.
