It was with great sadness that we closed the Planet of the Grapes Shop in Holborn after ten years, to make way for the onward march of the property developers.
We said that we would be back, and like Arnie, we have kept our word. Later this year, Planet of the Grapes Sicilian Avenue will open its doors, and hopefully welcome back many old friends.Opening soon next to the Holborn Whippet, Sicilian Avenue will be our latest shop, bar and restaurant. We will offer the full range of wines our customers loved from New Oxford Street but in wonderful new surroundings that celebrate the history of Sicilian Avenue. The venue will include a bar, table service and a select range of hot and cold small plates, including our renowned charcuterie platters and homemade artisan pies and sausage rolls. The cellar features a spectacular tasting room available for events and private hire. Best of all, outdoor seating in the private avenue is available all year round until late.
