Thinking of Roller Skating for the First Time?
Thinking about coming to Roller Nation for the first time?
We welcome first-timers or beginners as well as returning skaters and regulars all on the same floor.
Here are a few of the most common questions we get.
Do I need to know how to skate?
Not at all. Plenty of people are stepping on skates for the first time. You can take it at your own pace. There is no pressure.
We have skate marshals on the rink who are more than happy to help you find your feet, give you tips and make sure you feel comfortable. You’re never left to figure it out alone unless you want to.
Are there any age restrictions?
Our evening events are strictly for Over 18+ only but we have other events suitable for families and children aged 5+.
For health, safety and insurance reasons, we are not able to admit children under 5 even as spectators or permit prams or strollers.
There is no upper age limit and many first-time and regular skaters are seniors.
Can I take breaks from skating?
Yes. Our venue is built around “experiences” where people gather to socialize as well as skate.
You can dine, enjoy alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from the bar or just relax in seating around the rink.
Can I bring my own skates?
Yes, of course. If you bring your own skates, please make sure they have stoppers or jam plugs fitted at all times.
Our skate hire is provided free-of-charge with every ticket purchased as an alternative to your own skates, except on Mondays when you need to bring your own.
Any rules I should know?
Yes — just a few important ones:
• Stoppers or jam plugs required for own skates
• Booking in advance recommended to avoid disappointment
CLUB NIGHTS and evening events:
• 18+ only
• Challenge 25 ID policy in place – we will only accept physical forms of ID.
• Air conditioning in use.
