In 1929, the Singer Sewing Machine Company built its London headquarters at 1 City Road, a grand Portland stone building designed by William Lewis. Nearly a century later, it's still standing, and these days it pours a very good pint.
A lot of what you see inside goes back to those early years: the Art Deco moulded ceiling, the green-and-white tiled walls and the industrial ironwork. Downstairs, the old basement is now 5cc, our cocktail bar.
There's plenty of history on the walls and cold drinks on the bar. Come and find us on the edge of Shoreditch.
