The Chancellor promised “breathing space on the cost of living and the cost of business” and “innovation and growth in every postcode”. But for many pubs, yesterdays Autumn Budget delivered neither.

BII CEO, Steve Alton, shares “The Prime Minister said pubs ‘need to know that the cavalry is coming’. Today, it simply didn’t arrive. This Budget was a missed opportunity to support growth, employment and tangible social value, and without further urgent support, many of our nation’s pubs in every postcode will simply not be able to survive and be lost to their communities.”

We had a fantastic night as guests at The Great British Pub Awards in Leeds. Thanks The Morning Advertiser and William-Reed for the invite. Big love to the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), shout out to Timothy Taylor's Brewery for the tasty ale, and congrats to The Plough Prestbury and The Swan in Clewer, and all the Punch Pubs winners!

Temporary Kitchen Hours: Due to a staff shortage in our kitchen, unfortunately we need to run on temporary hours for food which may change weekly.

This week our kitchen will be closed on Wednesday 23 September. It will open Thursday to Sunday, full hours below.

If you are unable to book, it’s likely that the kitchen may be closed on that day or time, but please do give us a call in pub opening hours to confirm.

Please do bear with us, as really good kitchen staff are difficult to recruit. Everything we serve is made from scratch on the premises and we need the right people to deliver that for our custoners. We’re working hard on recruitment but it’s taking time.

Kitchen hours for this week:
Wednesday 23: Kitchen Closed
Thursday 24: 5pm to 9pm
Friday 25: 4pm to 9pm
Saturday 26: 5pm to 9pm
Sunday 27: Midday to 6.45pm

Thank you!

Three quarters of publicans would invest in their pubs if taxes were reduced, as the BII warns one in five could close if the current tax burden remains.
