Who’s that Pokémon?! …It’s .

So, it turns out coming onboard with us was merely a lily pad for an impressive leap into the lofty echelons of management—much like the South African sharp-nosed frog, which is capable of jumping up to 17.6 feet.

Based on her trademark brand of C24-grade enthusiasm, fused with being every bit as disarming and lovable as one of those 3rd-generation Pokémon that you can’t really name but are inexplicably delighted by, we’re pretty sure she’s going to crush it.

Anyway, TL;DR: Cas is AGM here now. Congrats, Cas! Raise a glass with her and give her a firm handshake next time you’re in the neighbourhood.

Wee fella’s all grown up!

You know Ant (below and , above the lolly) - he’s been with us since the start, first as a bartender that clearly stepped up, then as an AGM, and now, today, it’s his first day at school (of life/being a General Manager).

The ‘big shoes’ to fill metaphor is fine but also kinda silly - we all know a good manager suits the role, but a great manager make the role suit them, and that’s precisely why all of us get excited to see what comes next for great managers - that growth and progress is always about more than just them.

Yeah, not a small one tonight.

This here is . Though his subtle complexion is indeed prone to sunburn, the photo is actually just what happens if you stand in with the lights off but the neon on. BYO jawline, however.

And as the above suggests, Rory’s been with us since we opened that sultry haven in June 2019, being a central part of that bar’s success, survival of COVID, and relaunch, before eventually moving over to us here at RCE for its launch, eventually taking the reins as GM. And that, friends, is what we call A SHIFT.

Throwing together a series of quips and oddities to jibe at his character is a lot of fun, but it doesn’t really convey the monumental regard and love we have for him - so we’ll simply say tonight is his last shift and you should all go make it extra fun/challenging for him. Maybe bring him a present. He loves presents, as seen in pic 2.

That’s not to say we won’t have a few jokes at him later, we absolutely will do that.

It’s officially spooky season, people. And Tequila are taking over the basement tomorrow night to bring you a big, delicious Halloween party.

It’s tequila-fuelled specials, like this Hocus Pocus, obligatory fancy dress (probably a prize for best dressed), and a venue decorated like a 6-year-old’s stress dream. Come on down, get weird, get involved. Doors open from 4pm.

As you may have noticed, our menu operates a buddy system: one mate who wants to grab pizzas and chuck Interstellar on — the other wants to load up hip flasks with overproof rum and head to Thorpe Park. Classic red pill / blue pill scenario. Both welcome entities, and as with the above, you don’t strictly have to choose one or the other — just which order they go In. Case in point:
