Just dropped...
2 years ago, our former creative director, Simon Moore, announced he was to work on a book about the 35 year history of Ministry of Sound.
Today, we can finally reveal that it’s finished and across all 416 pages, the secrets are finally told.
Ministry of Sound (Anthology) will be published by Rizzoli New York on 20th October 2026.
Some words from Simon below...
“When I started this project, I thought I knew the story of Ministry of Sound. It turns out I very much did not. After conducting hundreds of hours of interviews, sifting through tens of thousands of photographs, tracking down long-lost flyers, records, posters and tickets, photographing artefacts, and scanning negatives and transparencies, I discovered something far bigger, stranger and more moving than I expected.
It is a heady mix of passion, ambition, chaos, money, drugs, gangs and, above all, a deep love of music. There is also a 5ft Gremlin, an 80ft condom, a suitcase full of cash, Miss N**e Australia and the Indonesian secret police. Fun for all the family.
At its heart, though, is the story of how a club built in a derelict South London warehouse as a groundbreaking temple to US house music, reshaped British dance music culture and changed countless lives forever.
It’s been the most ambitious, idiotic, time-consuming and rewarding project of my career, and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
