Pauliteiros de Sendim 🇵🇹
Deep in Portugal’s northeast, in the Terra de Miranda, a centuries-old tradition has been passed down from father to son for generations.
The Pauliteiros perform a traditional dance with wooden sticks (pau means stick in Portuguese), striking them together in perfect rhythm.
We’ve just returned from Trás-os-Montes, where we had the privilege of meeting the Pauliteiros de Sendim and witnessing this remarkable tradition firsthand.
A beautiful reminder that in this corner of Portugal, traditions aren’t just remembered. They’re still very much alive.
Obrigado Pauliteiros de Miranda - Sendim ❤️
