For the first in a new Spanish masterclass series between Bar Daskal and , we were joined by Manuel Muga, CEO of Bodegas Muga and third-generation of the family considered to be winemaking royalty, for an intimate wine tasting upstairs at Bar Daskal.

As well as opening up a selection of his beautiful wines, including some bottles that cannot be found in the UK, Manuel hosted an edifying discussion that delved into the history Bodega Muga, explored the Rioja region, and offered deeper insight into the first-class winemaking methods that have earned the Muga name such prestige.

Hugest thank you to Manuel and to Jose A. Vicente Pacheco, Managing Director of C & D Wines, for what was an unforgettable evening. ❤️

We’ve added two very special Mallorcan wines to our menu; each is a collaboration between 4 Kilos winery and Amadip Esment, a not-for-profit who work to support people with learning disabilities in Mallorca. 🍷

2022 Sa Cussa Antonia

A blend of Macabeu and Mallorcan grape, Prensal, this white has plenty of texture and complexity, owing to the 24 hours of skin contact time.

Wine tasting with 🍷

​Wednesday 20th September, from 6.30pm – 8pm

​​We are honoured to be joined by Manuel Muga, CEO of Muga and third generation of the family considered to be winemaking royalty, for an intimate wine tasting in partnership with .

Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and his wife Aurora Caño, the family-run Bodegas Muga, still housed today in the historic Barrio de La Estación in Haro, continues the proud traditions of this emblematic Spanish region. The only cellar in Spain with a master cooper and three in-house barrel-makers, the winery remains meticulously faithful to their traditional winemaking methods and time-honoured, family traditions, whilst incorporating cutting edge technology.

The evening will be an opportunity to taste some favourites from the Barrafina wine list, in addition to some of the Muga range that have never been on the menu before.

The tasting will begin with a welcome drink of Conde de Haro 2019, a Cava fermented in bottle and aged for two years just like Champagne, and proceed to include a selection of five premium reds, rosé and whites, each presented with detailed tasting notes from Manuel and accompanied by para picar from Bar Daskal.

Tickets are £50 and can be booked via under the ‘Upcoming Events’ section. Guests wishing to book dinner after the tasting at Borough Yards or Borough Yards located just next door, ​​​​will receive a complimentary glass of Bodegas Muga with their meal. 🦐 🍅 ❤️
