Heart of Wales Brewery

Heart of Wales Brewery A family-owned brewery based in Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys, which produces a wide range of award-winning real ales.

The concept of the Heart of Wales Brewery came into being shortly after moving into the Neuadd Arms Hotel, as we realised how much the locals appreciated good real ales. An initial brew was produced in 2004 using local spring water through a friend’s brewery, especially for the Mid Wales Beer Festival held in the town each November. The ale “Blaen Gwennol” (named after the spring) was so well rece

ived that we felt there was definitely the potential to build on this success. The brewery became a reality with the renovation of the derelict stables situated behind the Neuadd Arms Hotel. The brewery is a six barrel plant (a Brewers Barrel is 36 gallons) which was custom built and installed by Porter Brewing Installations. It comprises six stainless steel vessels together with all the associated ancillary equipment needed to produce traditional real ales. It is housed on two floors linked by a cast iron spiral staircase.

Well folks, pubs are re-opening so the Beer Giveaway has come to an end. Thank you to all who donated, I hope you have enjoyed the ales and that they have helped you through these unprecedented times. The final tally is £686.50 and a trolley token, raised for NHS Charities Together, which is an excellent effort by everyone. Our ales will shortly be available again in the Neuadd Arms, and I hope you will continue to support the Brewery by coming and enjoying a pint or two of our beer at a 2mtr distance. Current plans are to reopen on 3rd August, more details will follow once we have worked them out.

Many thanks to everyone who has donated to our NHS Beer Giveaway. Just counted the collection tub and we have reached a total of £245.47, which will be winging its way to the NHS Charities Together. Hope you are all enjoying the ales as well, and it is bringing you some cheer in these strange times. Dark Devil returns tomorrow and the nearly finished Off The Rails will be replaced by Aur Cymru.

So what else can you do with nearly 50 casks of beer and no pubs to sell it to? Bring your own containers, fill them up and also support the NHS at the same time.
We are starting with "Off the Rails", a 4% malty Pale Ale, and Dark Devil, a deliciously smooth 6% Chocolate Ale.
Enjoy! (Responsibly of course)
