In the charming small town of Llantwit Major, steeped in history and fame, you will find us; The Tudor Tavern! We were formerly known as the Globe Inn - We are one of the 3 triangle pubs that face the War Memorial on the town square. Llantwit is so colourful with the history and facts that you can learn about! Infact, there is so much history associated with The Tudor Tavern that it's impossible t
o write about it all! But here's a few for those who're interested...
The Tudor Tavern first became a public house in the 1840's and from then on has had it's multitude of different owners! Many of our customers remember two past owners who kept some interesting pets in the 1900s, those being a monkey and a parrot! Such a fond memory for some regulars to unlock and share with those who continue to enjoy The Tudor... Plus, no better way to leave your stamp on the premises, who doesn't want those as pets, right? During the days in the 1800's, it was recorded that a young lad of 16 unfortunately lost his life by falling down the cistern and also another loss of life by someone hanging themselves in the stable after being given permission to stay the night... Not to bring a downer onto the pub, but this explains the stories of haunting and ghostly sightings at the Tudor Tavern! We can guarantee there is always a mysterious experience to be shared, just come ahead and ask! This pair have worked tirelessly to turn the Tudor around and make it a hit again! The pub is children and dog friendly! They don't have monkeys or parrots but with 5 children between them, you could make some similarities! The Tudor has now introduced a small pizza menu for those to enjoy at the pub, or order, have a drink and take it away to enjoy later! There's a game room where Pool and Darts can be played - FREE POOL on Wednesdays! There's board games dotted around, plenty of playing cards & some dominoes! Live Music is now on alternate Saturdays, filling those in between spots with the classic Tudor disco and Open Mic Night appearing on some Fridays (Keep your eyes peeled!)
The Tudor is back to the home of live music and we hope that all of you love it as much as we do
