🚨 Hospitality in the UK is at breaking point 🚨
Something has to change — and it has to change NOW.
Every single day, pubs are closing their doors for the last time.
Independent cafés, caterers, restaurants and food businesses are being pushed beyond their limits while costs continue to rise from every angle.
🍺 TWO pubs a day are reportedly closing in the UK.
🏪 National chains are collapsing.
💷 Energy, food, staffing and operating costs are soaring.
📈 Yet hospitality businesses are still expected to survive under a VAT system that simply isn’t fair.
Hospitality is one of the hardest-working industries in the country.
We employ millions, support local communities, create jobs for young people, bring people together and keep town centres alive.
But right now many businesses are spending more time fighting to survive than planning for the future.
A reduced VAT rate for hospitality would: ✅ Help protect jobs
✅ Keep independent businesses alive
✅ Support local economies
✅ Allow businesses to invest and grow
✅ Help stop the constant wave of closures
Without urgent action, more pubs, cafés, caterers and restaurants will disappear from our high streets forever.
Hospitality doesn’t want handouts.
It wants a fair chance.
It’s time for the Government to listen to the industry before it’s too late.
