A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to our last quiz night and helped us support our friend Amy ❤️

For those who know Amy, you’ll know she’s a much-loved local girl who is currently fighting for her life in her battle against cancer. Amy has set up a GoFundMe to help raise the crucial funds she needs to access costly treatments, and we wanted to do our little bit to help.

As always, our monthly quiz was hosted by our two wonderful regulars and friends- Jon and Paul, who generously give up their time to put on a fantastic night for us. Usually, our quiz nights raise money for other charities close to our hearts, but this month we decided to dedicate the evening to Amy.

What a night it was! 🫶 We completely filled the place, it was amazing to see so many people come together to show their love and support for Amy. Even people who couldn’t make the quiz still kindly donated — which meant so much 💝

Together, you all raised an incredible £287.50 through quiz entries. We decided to match that amount, bringing the total donation to £575, which has now been donated to help towards Amy’s treatment ❤️

A massive thank you to Jon and Paul for once again giving their time and putting on such a brilliant evening, and of course to every single person who attended, donated, or supported the fundraiser in any way.

This month, our Quiz Night is a little different ❤️

As you know, usually we raise money for our chosen charities, both the Hospice and RNLI, but this month we’re coming together to support Amy as she raises funds for life-saving treatment following her long and difficult battle with cancer.

We’ve all seen how our community has been incredible in rallying around Amy, and we wanted to do our bit too 💝

So, why not join us on Thursday for a fun-filled evening of quizzing while supporting a truly worthwhile cause? Every penny raised will go towards helping Amy on her journey.

If you can’t make it on the night, we’ve also got a donation pot behind the bar, and all donations will be added to the total raised on Thursday.

Come along, have some fun, and help us get behind Amy. Together, we can make a difference. 💛 💪

A huge congratulations to Lee, who reaches an incredible 13 years with us today! 💖

Lee first came to work with me running ‘The Lilly Bar & Grill’ and when that chapter ended, we sold and focused on our main company- he made the move over to our true home, The Lilly Restaurant with rooms 🥰

He has tried leaving a couple of times over the years and still has other employment, but somehow always found his way back! 💝 At this point, I’m not sure if it’s loyalty, good judgement, or simply the inability to escape 😂

Jokes aside, Lee has been one of the most trusted, reliable, and loyal people I’ve ever worked with. Through busy services, challenges, successes, and everything in between, he’s always been someone (and at some points- the only persons!) I could count on.
What makes this milestone even more special is that somewhere along the way, the working relationship turned into a genuine friendship. That’s something far more valuable than any number of years on a calendar.

All of our regulars know Lee, and many come back as much to see him as they do for the food and drink. Over the years, he’s gone from employee to friend, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything he’s done and continues to do.

Soo… Thank you for 13 years, Lee. We’re lucky to have you, (even if we couldn’t quite let you get away when you tried! 🍻😂)

Here’s to many more years ahead! 🍻
