Lowlands

Lowlands is the home of the West Derby Community Association Regular Lowlands events including fairs, quizzes, galas and Halloween.

Lowlands, a Grade II-listed former merchant's mansion, is the West Derby Community Centre where about 20 organisations, classes etc meet regularly.Rooms available for parties, weddings, anniveraries etc. Built in 1846, this was later the home of the Withers family until 1930. From 1959 to 1966 the Pillar Club met in the bsement attended by members of The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Hollies,

Herman's Hermits and many other famous musicians in their early days. Lowlands also has a rare woodland city garden, the home to owls, woodpeckers and many other species.

LOWLANDS BURNS NIGHT FRIDAY 23 JANUARY 2026
Join us at the ever-popular Lowlands Burns Night celebrations on Friday 23 January – doors open at 7 pm.
This is a fundraising event for Lowlands, Grade II-listed home of the West Derby Community Association charity since 1957.
Tickets cost just £30 each – admission by ticket only. Book now to avoid disappointment!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ALL AT LOWLANDS
Festive greetings to all!
A very big Thank You to everybody for your support in 2025 and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2026.
Our pictures show Santa, Elves and Snowman enjoying our beautiful Grade II-listed former Victorian merchant’s house, home of the West Derby Community Association since 1957.
They were doing a recce before the big night. Like them, we are hoping for a white Christmas when the snow makes our historic home even more lovely.
Our band of volunteers helped Elves decorate the building in true Victorian style.
Elves enjoy the top landing where they sometimes like to hide in one of our aspidistras, the evergreen plant beloved by the Victorians.
